A Note From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am looking forward to start visiting classrooms this month to deliver 30 minute Sources of Strength lessons to our students. This curriculum is dedicated to enhancing mental health by helping students build protective factors such as connection, coping skills, resilience, and overall wellness.
The goal of these monthly lessons is to assist students in recognizing the strengths and support systems they have in their lives. This will not only help them navigate challenges but also celebrate their achievements. Creating a nurturing and open environment is essential for fostering students' well-being. If you would like to learn more about the Sources of Strength program, you can visit their website or reach out to me at any time.
Sincerely,
Mathew Prezioso
Principal, Munson Elementary

- Tell your children NOT to lean or hang of the car windows for ANY reason while in line.
Thank you for helping us to keep the car line safe and moving quickly!
Topper Tickets!
Topper Tickets are part of Munson's PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) system. They are given to students as a special recognition when they demonstrate a Topper Trait - Taking Responsibility, Offering Kindness, and Persevering. Each day, we randomly select a few Topper Ticket winners from each grade level to receive a prize! Check the newsletter each week for their names!
1st Grade: Ava Honsaker, Jackson Janor, Claire Clark, Sam Adkins, Paige Mansfield, Frank Munn
2nd Grade: Cooper Reinhard, Mia Phelps, Finley Brenner, Maclin Nagal, Cara Kramer, Landen Udovic

NEW! We randomly choose a few Topper Ticket winners to spin the WHEEL OF FUN on Fridays! The prizes on the Wheel of Fun are a step up from the usual, and include things like having lunch with a friend in Mr. Prez's office, visiting a "secret" part of the school, winning an extra recess for your class, and more! (We also have a Wheel of Fun theme song that the kids love to dance and sing along to!) Congratulations to our Wheel of Fun spinners - Mateo Merritt and Olivia Brindo!
Keep up the GREAT work, Hilltoppers!
Mateo won a 30 second dance party!
Olivia's name is on the school sign!
Olivia climbs to the top!
Please Complete Your Annual Update!
The Annual Update must be completed by ALL Chardon Local Schools households every year, for every student, even if there are no changes. This ensures that we have the most accurate information for your student and household. This helps us to contact you promptly in case of an emergency, allows you to pay for student meals and school fees online, and gives you access to important forms and documents, including report cards. We need your updated information as soon as possible! Find Annual Update instructions HERE.
The first class to complete 100% of their Annual Updates will win a special treat for the entire class! Mrs. Sobodosh's class is in the lead with 12 Annual Updates completed! Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Woodrow are right behind her with 11, followed by Mrs. Hardman and Mrs. Dinko with 10!
Mrs. Turk, Mrs. Burress - 9

PTO News & Upcoming Events
Follow the Munson PTO on Facebook and Instagram (@MunsonPTO) for news and regular updates on upcoming events. You can also email munsonelementarypto@gmail.com with questions or ideas. All parents and guardians are automatically PTO members just by having a student attending Munson! We have no membership fees or other requirements to join. We are always looking for volunteers with all kinds of abilities, skills, ideas, and availability. Thank you for your support!
Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 19 at 4pm at school. We hope to see you there!
PTO Volunteers Needed
Hello Munson families! The PTO is looking for wonderful volunteers to share in the fun for this school year with our students.
The COMMITTEES link is for volunteering for our family events in two ways: either as a chairperson to help plan, arrange, and execute an event, or you can sign up to help on the committee. The link for CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS is for in-class events such as room parent, party colunteer, book fairs, etc. You are welcome to sign up for as much or as little as you wish. The links to sign up will be closing on September 7 so that we can organize the volunteers and begin contacting everyone by mid-September. Please be sure to sign up by then!
Questions? You can reach out to the PTO by email at munsonelementarypto@gmail.com or on Facebook! Thank you!
