April Newsletter: 2025
Spring + April greetings! Hard to believe but April marks the eighth month of our school year and the start of our fourth quarter. Next week's Spring Break is a bit later than normal but comes as a welcome opportunity prepare for the final two-plus months of our year. Our STARs will officially begin their break this coming Friday with our early, 12:20pm dismissal. We'll be on break across the following week (April 7th - April 11th), returning to campus on Monday, April 14th. From that point, we will start a two week runup to state exams, beginning in late April. Please see those dates/notes below.
Lastly, per last week's district-level message, please note that our final day of this 2024/2025 school year will be Friday, June 20th. This date change occurred as a result of our previous snow/weather days. Please note that Thursday, June 19th is a non-school day in observance of Juneteenth. That following day, Friday June 20th, will likely include our Field Day, year-end assembly, and a 12:20pm dismissal.
Should you need anything across the coming break, please do not hesitate to reach out. In the interim, enjoy the reemerging sun, flowers, and all of the other signs of spring that surround us. Thank you for your time and for being part of our North community.

Multicultural Night, Thursday, May 1st
You are welcome and encouraged to attend our 2025 Multicultural Night on Thursday, May 1st. This annual event is a school and community favorite, full of family fun, music, food, and performances. This year's theme, A Taste of North, specifically seeks to honor the beautiful diversity of our North Everett community. Please plan to attend anytime between the opening of our event at 5:30pm and our closing at 7:30pm. Students must attend with an adult (18 years or older).
Application Note: When you think about family, community, culture, and heritage, what foods come to mind? For each of us, there are tastes and places that form our memories and inform our identities. Perhaps it is that specific family recipe, passed down across generations. Or maybe it is that nearby restaurant that has become your family's go-to for celebrations.
As we prepare for our forthcoming multicultural night, we will be asking our students to consider these questions as part of a schoolwide study entitled, A Taste of North. We'll be asking every member of our school community to create a slide honoring that food, recipe, restaurant or other space that helps inform their culture and sense of identity. These will be on display during our Multicultural Night and collectively form the diverse, interconnected fabric of our North Everett community. Across the coming weeks, please discuss this topic with your family and help your child/children consider what they will honor as their submission for this schoolwide project.
North PTA Fundraiser at Red Robin, April 28th
Our North PTA is partnering with the Red Robin restaurant in Everett as our April fundraiser. On Monday, April 28th, 20% of food sales will go back to our North PTA and back to our North students. Honoring Arab American Heritage
As April dawns, we turn our attention to Arab American Heritage Month and the important opportunity we have to honor Arab American heritage and culture, and celebrate the nearly four million Americans who trace their family roots to an Arab country. As a school, we will utilize both in-class and school-wide opportunities to enhance our knowledge and appreciation of Arab American heritage. This year's nation theme theme is Arab American Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future and specifically reflects on the legacy of Arab Americans while recognizing the next generation of leaders making strides in business, government, education, science, and the arts.
In addition to Arab American Heritage Month, there are several meaningful celebrations and recognitions that occur across this month of April including Autism Acceptance Month (link), School Library Month (and our North Librarian, Mrs. Kelly) (link), Poetry Month (link), National Volunteer month (link), and April as the Month of the Military Child (link).
2025/26 Class Registration Update
Our class selection process for the forthcoming 2025/2026 school year has progressed well including last week's class selections by a majority of our current sixth and seventh graders. Our eighth graders (rising ninth graders) have enjoyed several in-person opportunities with Everett High already including an assembly and student panel last week, focused on all of the extracurricular opportunities that Everett has to offer.
This week, we will work to connect with any student that has not yet entered their class selections. After the break, we will begin our efforts to create a draft master schedule which will begin to inform staffing and teaching assignments.
For ongoing updates and information related to class selection and/or counseling, please see our North Counseling webpage.
