It's finally fall and I certainly can't wait for some cooler days! Here's what's coming up...

Next week is FINALS for 1st Quarter. Please be sure your child gets plenty of rest so they can be focused on doing their best! Hey, that rhymes! Anyway, here is the schedule for next week:

• Monday: Regular Schedule - 8:00am-2:34pm
• Tuesday: Half Day - 8:00am-11:00am (Finals for periods 1 & 4)
• Wednesday: Wednesday Schedule - 8:00am-2:00pm
• Thursday: Half Day - 8:00am-11:00am (Finals for periods 2 & 5)
• Friday: Half Day - 8:00am-11:00am (Finals for periods 3 & 6)

On Wednesday, October 16th, Seniors will take the SATs on campus from 9a-2p

On Thursday, October 24th, Juniors & Seniors will take the ASVAB on campus from 8a-11:30a

On Wednesday, October 30th, Sophomores and Juniors will take the PSATs on campus from 9a-2p

Did you know the River of Life Mission serves over 200 lbs. of rice every day?

Each year Lanakila Baptist High School does a food drive to benefit and bless those in our state in need of a hot meal. We partner with the River of Life Mission who provides 3 meals a day to those in need.

Last year the High School Campus alone collected over 7,000 lbs. of food which exceeded our goal of 100 lbs per student. Our primary collection is rice, but we will take unexpired and non-perishable canned, packaged, and boxed foods as well.

All donations will benefit the River of Life Mission and other non-profit food distribution organizations.

Challenges

• 10 lb T-Shirt Tuesday

• Double Pound Points Friday (for Rice only)

• Weekly Class Competitions (Wed -Tues) - weekly winner gets sweet treats (based on per-student average)

• Overall Class Goal Met (100 lbs. per student) - qualifying classes earn an ice cream party

• Overall Class "Most Pound Per Student" Competition - winning class gets a field trip of their choice (based on per-student average)

Lanakila Baptist High School is the proud caretaker of Roosevelt Avenue in Kalaeloa. We will be taking NHS & NJHS students to pick up trash on October 15th from 12:00-2:30p. If you would like to volunteer, please call or email us!

If you have not yet done so, please turn in all ticket monies as soon as possible.

Please remember... we are not accepting any unsold tickets as they have already been purchased by the school and must be sold. We ordered tickets based on five per student or more if they were requested during registration.

Thank you so much for all your hard work in selling these tickets... We can almost feel the cold air blowing in our new COOL Chapel!

We have two unclaimed and un-named black jackets (size small) in the office. Both were found during the first week of school. As we begin approaching the cooler months, I'd imagine a couple of students might start wondering where their jackets have gone. If you suspect that one of these belongs to your child, please call our office.
