Coloma Junior High
Week of September 16th - Homecoming Edition
Homecoming 2024
Homecoming is always a great week filled with activities and excitement. Here are important notes specific for the Junior High.
Spirit Wear
- We will be selling spirit wear all week (see flyers below). Students may purchase from the main office or during their lunch.
- Students are encouraged to participate in the dress up days. Awards will be provided to those students that show the most school spirit.
- Dress code still applies on dress up days, however students are permitted to wear hats and glasses as long as they are considered part of the costume. Students must be able to participate in all classes and the costume must not be a distraction to the educational environment.
District Assembly Games
- Students will be able to purchase a slot to participate in the District Assembly Games during their lunch on Wednesday. The cost is 5 CARE tickets and slots are sold on a first come first serve basis.
GO GREEN Award
- Our first Go Green Award will be held on Friday during 3rd hour.
- Students must have turned in all missing assignments by the end of the day on Wednesday.
- Students that do not have any missing assignments will receive Homecoming Swag and enjoy time outside.
JH Activity Time
- On Friday from 1pm - 2pm the Junior High students will participate in one of two activities. Students were provided the choice of going outside to participate in JH Games with their WIN B groups or to stay inside to watch a movie.
District Wide Assembly on Friday 2pm - 3pm
- The Junior High will report to the HS gym at 2pm on Friday to participate in the District Wide Assembly.
- If you need to pick your child up between 2pm and 3pm, we ask that you please do so prior to 2pm. Once students are in the gym it will be difficult to get them up to the office in a timely manner.
- Students will be dismissed from the gym with ample time to gather their things from their lockers and get to the buses.
Homecoming Spirit!!
Homecoming is early this year. Our Homecoming Game will be on Friday, September 20th! That week leading up to Homecoming will be our Spirit Week. Be sure that your student can show their Green and Gold. We have put together spirit packs available only at the Junior High. Items are available for purchase in the main office or during lunches for our students. Show your Spirit!!
Spirit Socks $10 a pair - only available at the Junior High!
Study Hall at the Junior High
The Junior High runs Study Hall on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Study Hall is supervised by our certified teachers that are able to support a variety of subjects. There is no cost to attend and no sign up required. Students only need to have their own transportation home at 4:05.
For safety reasons, all students will sign in each afternoon and unless prior arrangements are made they will remain in the classroom until dismissal at 4:05.
Students can use this as a safe and supervised place to work on homework, receive extra help, utilize internet to complete projects, or wait for transportation. All students are welcome to attend.
Accidental Breakage Assurance
Coloma Community Schools recommends that accidental breakage assurance be purchased prior to the deployment of the Chromebook to your child. Coloma Community Schools will be the sole provider of this assurance. Under this assurance agreement, the Chromebooks are protected against theft or accidental damage. The Coloma Community Schools will require that a police report be submitted in cases of theft. A student making a false report will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined by the school code of conduct.
This accidental breakage assurance policy does not cover for loss of the Chromebook and/or its accessories, cosmetic damage, or damages caused by intentional misuse and abuse. Coloma Community Schools will assess the Chromebook damage and repair or replace the device if the damage is determined to be accidental and within the protection guidelines. Parents/Students may be charged for full replacement cost of a device that has been lost or damaged due to intentional misuse or abuse.
The accidental breakage assurance cost is $20.00 annually for each chromebook 6th grade through 12th grade. It is non-refundable.
