Here's what's happening at East Meadows.....
It's been an amazing first full week of school and we are so impressed with what a great job our students have been doing to get back in the swing of learning. Please read through the newlsetter for important information about upcoming dates for school pictures, parent teacher conferences, and more.
Remember there is NO SCHOOL for students on Monday, September 2nd (Labor Day) and NO SCHOOl on Monday, September 16th as the teachers have to attend a district wide training.
New Reading Program (Core Knowledge Language Arts - CKLA)
We have a new reading program this year called CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts). This new program is rigorous and your children will be learning a lot of new information and be exposed to a new style of learning. It will challenge our students, but we are looking forward to amazing growth in language arts this year. If you'd like to learn more about the program CLICK HERE.

Our East Meadows PTA would love to have you as a member this year. Parents can help and be involved in a wide variety of ways. Every member counts and your involvement helps teachers and students directly. The cost to join is $6.
ORDER SCHOOL SHIRTS - DEADLINE AUGUST 31ST!
School shirts and other gear is on sale now and can be ordered through August 31st. The items in the online store will not be available after that date, so be sure to get your order submitted by the end of next week.
Parent Teacher Conferences - September 26th from 3:00 - 8:30 PM
Mark your calendar for our first Parent Teacher Conference which will be held on September 26th from 3:00-8:30 PM. In early September, we will send out separate reminders with links to our Sign Up Genius account where you can sign up for a specific time slot. We look forward to discussing your child's progress and setting goals for the coming year!
