Principal Message
As we complete another great week of school. I want to share a powerful message inspired by the book by Jon Gordon, The Carpenter.
Being a parent is one of the most rewarding yet challenging roles. There are moments of pride and joy, as well as moments of worry and doubt. But just as a carpenter loves every part of the building process—from the first sketch to the final touches—we, too, must embrace and love every part of this journey with our children.
Love the excitement of the first day of school and the routine that follows. Love the learning curves, the questions, the homework assignments, and even the challenges, for they are all part of your child’s growth. Love the partnership we share as a school community, working together to elevate and nurture every student.
When we choose to love all of it, we teach our children the value of perseverance, patience, and passion. We show them that every experience, big or small, shapes who they are becoming.
Thank you for your continued support and for being such an integral part of our school community. Together, with love and commitment, we are helping our children build a bright future.
IT'S TIME FOR PENNY WARS
Raise money for our school by bring in your PENNIES & DOLLARS!
We could not hold the excitement any longer...The Penny War is back!!! As soon as we put up the posters, collections have been taken place all around the school!!! A Time Was Had Last Year...Will this year set a new record?!?!?
The Penny War will take place next week - August 26-30th...The scholars have already started strategizing...teachers are prepping for battle...the war is coming in full force!!!
This fun-filled, math-igniting, cognitive thinking, school spirit-initiative raised $6000 last year!!! We were able to host a dance at a low cost, celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, provide food to families during meetings, and so much more!!!
Last year, Pre-K reigned as Champions. They rocked medals and cool t-shirts! This year, we will have a trophy. The winner will have Penny War bragging rights until the next war is sparked.
The Penny War is a "Final Second" event! Everyone thought Ms. Thrash class was in the lead…However, the silver coins came rolling in during lunch period...and Pre-K dropped $500 at 11:59 before time!!! It was PHENOMENAL!!!

The School Day and Attendance Goals
Attendance Goal for 24-25 School Year - 90% of students with less than 15 days absent for the year.
The doors of the school are opened at 7:10 each day. Students can eat breakfast for free in the cafeteria before going to class. Breakfast ends at 7:35 am. It's crucial that students arrive at school before 7:40, as after this time, they are considered late and must be signed in by an adult. Punctuality is key to a successful school day.
Last year, less than 78% of students met the threshold for satisfactory attendance. Satisfactory attendance is characterized by being present at least 90% of the school year. That is less than seventeen days for students enrolled on the first day. This year, we are striving for 90% of students with less than 15 days absent this year. Regular attendance is crucial for students’ success. Please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready to learn daily. If your student gets sick, notify the school immediately by sending an excuse to renaissanceESattendance@fultonschools.org
or a handwritten note. Include the following information.
Student Name
Parent/Guardian signature, phone number/e-mail address
Reason for the absence
You can also elect to use Remote Learning Days. Remote days must be requested in advance of the absence. To request a remote day, notify your child’s teacher via e-mail and copy Stephannie Green, the data Clerk, at greens11@fultonschools.org. Each student earns five remote days per semester. Students will be given assignments to make up for the missed day(s) at school. When the work is returned, the student will be counted as present for the day(s) missed.
School Uniforms
Students are encouraged to wear uniforms. The Renaissance uniform is a red or black polo-style shirt with khaki or black bottoms (shorts, pants, skirts, skorts, etc.). Students can wear a college shirt on Wednesday or a Renaissance school shirt on Friday. School T-shirts will be on sale at the front desk.
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program
Renaissance ES will participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program. The program provides a free fruit or vegetable snack to our students. The program's goal is to expand the variety of fruits & vegetables children experience, increase their consumption of healthy foods, and impact the children's present and future health. Students will receive this snack three times per week.
RES Lunch Program
All RES students will receive free breakfast and lunch this school year.
The cafeteria will have extra sales like chips and ice cream for purchase during the lunch block. Students can bring cash or set up an account on MyPaymentPlus. You will need the student ID number to set up an account.

We also welcome your support of our School Governance Council. This group meets each month and helps support the mission and vision of the school.
We will have quarterly Principal Chats this year. However, my door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help our school continue to make great strides!

Here Comes The Bus
"Here Comes the Bus" is a free, easy-to-use website and app that enables you to see the location of your child’s school bus on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer. This way, you know when the bus is near your stop, so you can send your child out at just the right time. No more worrying about whether your child has missed the bus!
The Infinite Campus portals - Campus Parent and Campus Student - provides access to information for all enrolled students in their household. Information includes grades, attendance, assignments, and school announcements.
Note: Parents must register the first time they are accessing their account. All students have access to Campus Student via ClassLink.
