It was outstanding to see everyone at Open House on Wednesday! We are beyond excited to see all of our students on the first day of school and to serve all of you as principals at VMS. We will do everything we can to ensure all of our students are educated, empowered, and inspired.

With the beginning of the school year, we have a lot of important reminders so that our building is a safe environment for our students.

Schedules are available on Campus Parent Portal. . If you need help finding your student’s schedule on Campus Parent Portal, click HERE.

Please note the following:

• Schedules are subject to change until the first day of school.

• 8th graders: Quarter class placements are final. You may not be placed in your first choice of elective classes due to scheduling constraints and class sizes. Requests to change these classes will not be honored.

• If you think a mistake has been made on your schedule, please stop by the counseling office.

ISD 728 provides Infinite Campus Portal to students and parents/guardians. Campus Student (for students) and Campus Parent (for parents/guardians) allow you to better understand, monitor and participate in the educational process with real-time access to student information for the current school year. Parents and students can access announcements, assignments, absence reporting, attendance, bus routes, fees, lunch accounts, grades, report cards, schedules and more. Select options for receiving email communications from your school and connect with other systems like Schoology online student learning.

• Campus Parent Portal usernames are the email address provided during registration. Passwords can be set or changed using the Forgot Password link on the Campus Portal login page. If having trouble accessing Campus Portal, please use the Parent Portal Support Request Form, call 763-241-3548 or email parentportal@isd728.org to request assistance

To keep traffic flowing and expedite drop off and pick up wait times, please enter the VMS parking lot from School Street. Do NOT enter from Proctor Avenue.

• The reason for this is twofold:
• If you enter from Proctor Avenue, you will have to circle into traffic entering the correct direction and it will back things up.
• We have specialized transportation that enters from Proctor Avenue. They need to get in and out of the parking lot quickly.

Beginning with the 24-25 school year student school bus routing including assignment of bus stop locations, times and routes will be the responsibility of the ISD 728 Transportation department.

• Newsletter from the Health Office

As you are busy getting ready for another school year, please note that we are requesting any water bottle sent to school be of the type that firmly seals (Stanley cups that do not seal should remain at home). We have seen an increase in damage to books, computers and materials because of these types of water bottles. We are also requesting that all water bottles that have the spray sport feature be left at home (ex. Gatorade bottles). This type of water bottle is not best suited for the school setting. Students are NOT permitted to use their cell phones and wireless headphones during academic time.

• Please see cell phone expectations.

All students will get one free breakfast and one free lunch per day for the 2024-2025 school year.

• Even though one breakfast and one lunch will be free, students will still need money in their lunch account if they want to have “seconds” or a la carte items. You can deposit money in your child's lunch account through Campus Parent Portal or with cash in the cafeteria (we do NOT accept checks).
• Students will use their student IDs with a scannable BARCODE everytime they go through the cafeteria line (for free breakfasts/lunches and a la carte purchases). Students will receive their student ID in their homeroom class on the first day of school. Students will also place a barcode in their planners they can use in addition to their ID’s.

Students who are not able to attend Open House will also have their picture taken for student ID’s during lunches on September 25. Kemmetmueller Photography Flyer.
