Fall 2024 Finals Schedule
Students will take their finals on December 17th, 18th, and 19th. Students will follow the schedule above for Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is a make up day for missed finals or additional work to ensure students meet the class standards and pass. Teachers will contact you if your student needs to attend on Thursday.
It is difficult for students to make up finals outside of this schedule. If your student will not be at school on the days listed, please contact us ASAP to make arrangements.
Game Days
We're excited for the community to come out and support our band, cheerleaders, and teams on game nights. We have a few reminders for home games:
- All elementary and middle school students enter the game with an adult and sit with that adult throughout the game. Please do not drop your child off at a district event without supervision as they will not be allowed to enter.
- Student performances are the focus of the event. No one should be on the practice football field, soccer fields, or other areas away from the stadium.
- Please do not bring balls, frisbees, or other items to the game.
- Students cannot enter the stadium from the tailgate area.
- Spectators who are disruptive will be asked to leave.
Check Student Progress Anytime - Become a Canvas Observer
We’re excited to share how we’re using Canvas, our Learning Management System, to enhance your child’s learning experience. Here’s how Canvas helps:
- Organized Learning: Courses are structured with clear modules, making it easy for students to follow lessons and assignments.
- Engaging Content: Teachers use videos, interactive materials, and external resources to make learning more dynamic and accessible.
- Assessments & Feedback: Students complete quizzes and assignments directly on Canvas, where they receive immediate feedback and grades. Teachers also provide personalized feedback to help students improve.
- Communication & Collaboration: Canvas fosters communication through discussion boards, messaging, and group work, encouraging teamwork and peer interaction.
- Tracking Progress: Teachers can monitor student performance and engagement, allowing for timely support when needed.
Canvas ensures that students have a flexible, supportive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom. We encourage you to explore Canvas with your child and stay engaged with their classes.
- Observers log in through the observer portal: usd469.instructure.com/login/canvas.
- The Canvas Parent app will not work (it uses the Discovery Page, which is the student/staff portal).
- Observers should log in to Canvas before following links emailed from Canvas. If they aren't already logged in, they'll see an error 403 (unauthorized user) page.
Nominate an Outstanding Staff and/or Student for Board Meeting Recognition
Lansing USD469 recognizes one stand-out staff member and student at the beginning of each regularly scheduled board meeting.
If you know a staff member or student that has done something exceptional, please consider taking the time to fill out the form below. Our Board Recognition Committee will make their decision and contact the recipients prior to the next board meeting.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Positive Culture - Develop incentives to assist in recruitment/retention of all staff.
