Winter Weather Reminders!
As we welcome the winter season, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We go outside for recess as much as possible! However, if the wind chill makes it feel colder, we'll be relocating indoors for recess.
Kindly dress your children in warm layers, suitable jackets, along with hats and mittens to ensure their comfort during outdoor play. Please label your child's clothing as well. This will help keep our lost and found under control. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for assisting us in ensuring that our students are well-prepared to enjoy the winter weather with smiles on their faces. Stay warm and enjoy the season!
Smart Watches, Cell Phones etc
We know many students may have received smart watches, cell phone etc as holiday gifts this season. I am including information from our student handbook below in regards to having these devices in school.
The use and/or possession of electronic communication devices such as cell phones, Kindles, smart watches and any other electronic media device is allowed only with permission of a staff member. If a student possesses or uses any electronic communication device during the school day without permission, the equipment may be confiscated, secured in the main office, and returned to a parent/guardian. Cell phones must be turned off and stored in backpacks during the school day, unless authorized by a teacher for instructional use. Therefore, students are not allowed to receive phone calls or texts during the school day. Students are also not allowed to contact parents/guardians from their electronic devices during the school day. If a child needs to contact parents/guardians they may use the school telephone in the nurse’s office or school office.
Repeated violations may result in further disciplinary action. If students wish to possess or use electronic video or still-image devices while on school property, they must request permission from the administration. If any student possesses such devices they may be confiscated, secured in the main office, and returned to a parent/guardian. Any unauthorized capture or distribution of electronic video or still images may result in a suspension and/or possible prosecution by the West Bridgewater Police Department.

Holiday Theme Week!
RLM Staff also enjoyed the holiday theme week!
Superintendent in Residence!
The RLM was excited to have Mr Bodwell spend the day with us in December. He visited classrooms, helped serve lunch in the cafeteria and was invited by a group of first graders to eat lunch with them.
Raising MultiCultural Kids
RLM students have been excited and looking forward to their visits from RMK Diversity Leaders! The literature shared so far has been:
Malakai's Costume by Nadia L. Hohn
Mixed Me by Taye Diggs
Diversity Leaders are focusing on :
- Encouraging students to be curious about themselves and others builds self-confidence and empathy.
- Exposing students to different family structures, cultures, skin colors, abilities and language widens a student's worldview and builds perspective-taking skills.
- Providing children with appropriate language to describe differences and harmful treatment gives children the skills to address issues and create productive dialogue about change
- Representation matters
Determination
These awesome students were recognized by their teachers for showing DETERMINATION during the month of December. Determination means the ability to keep doing something even though it is difficult.
Every Monday and Friday we have student volunteers who share their examples of how they show DETERMINATION on the morning announcements.
