Media Center News!
Media Committee Members Needed!
Are you interested in being a member of the Northbrook MS Media Committee this year? It's a super easy job, I promise! The purpose of the media committee is to preview books we purchase for the media center, give ideas, encourage students to read, and if there is ever a challenge that might occur, you would help with that process. All correspondence will be via email, unless otherwise necessary.
Basically, you would be “on-call” to be on the media committee if a parent or teacher challenges a book in our media center. There is a county process that we go through if a book is challenged. If we have a challenge, then everyone on the committee would read the book and decide if it needs to stay on our shelves or be taken off. The chances of this are very slim, but a challenge can happen at any time during the school year.
If you'd like to be part of our media committee, please send me an email at nicole.cabezas@gcpsk12.org. Please send me your name, a good contact phone number. I will save your email address and send any communication that way. I need at least 3 volunteers. I look forward to your email
Thank you,
Mrs. Nicole Cabezas
