Children Programs
Harmony and Glocester Manton Libraries’ Craft Tables
October 1 through October 31, during library hours

Age Level: All Ages - No registration required.
Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries. Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.
Weekly Take and Make Crafts

Age Level: All Ages - No registration required.
Children of all ages, visit both libraries weekly to pick up a craft! Craft kits will be different at each location. Some kits may require help for younger crafters.
Pokémon Battle Club
Thursday, October 3, 5 p.m.
Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 7 and up
The Harmony Library will be hosting a monthly Pokémon Battle club. Decks and game boards will be provided – no outside decks at this time. If you don’t know how to play, that’s not a problem! We have a step-by-step guide and will be there to help.
Halloween Slime
Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No registration required.
Join us to make slime with Halloween confetti. Visit anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. while supplies last.
Spooky Cauldron
Tuesday, October 8, 5 p.m.

Age Level: Ages 5 and up
Join us to paint and add spooky touches to a light up wooden cauldron.
Hayride Story Time
Thursday, October 10, 5 p.m.
Pezza Farm, Johnston location
Age Level: Caregivers and children ages 10 and under
Join us for a quick story time at Pezza Farm, followed by a fun hayride! Youngsters will get to feed cows and take home a small pumpkin! Please arrive a few minutes early. Note: Please register for all those riding, not just the children.
Minecraft

Age Level: Ages 6 and up
Join us at the Harmony Library to play Minecraft Bedrock edition! This Harmony Library will be providing realms so only our library friends can join us. Four laptops will be available for use. If you need to use one, please register. No registration is needed if you are using your own device with Minecraft Bedrock on it.
Kid’s Halloween Party

Join us for a fun Halloween party with games, prizes, snacks, and crafts! Come dressed in your Halloween costume for extra festiveness!

Come build LEGOs with us! Bring your imagination and creativity to come up with some awesome designs that we will then display in the library.

Join us in making a haunted village! With different wooden buildings to paint, we will create a spooky town to display in the Harmony Library display case for the month of October. After Halloween, you can come and pick up your piece.

Cookbook Club

Our cookbook for October is Magnolia Table, Volume 2 by Joanna Gaines. Every month, members pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library and choose a recipe to make and prepare for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences. Note: Because of limited space, there will now be a waiting list for new members. Writers’ Group

Share your writing with your peers! The Harmony Library Writers’ Group is open to writers in all genres and forms, including poetry. In October, bring a sample of your work to read and get feedback from fellow writers. For information, phone Pat Kenny, Reference and Technology Librarian, at 949-2850. Note: The group begins with a social half-hour at 6 p.m., before meeting formally at 6:30 p.m.
Glocester Libraries’ Walking Club – Fall Super Walk
Wednesday, October 16, 8 a.m.
Steere Hill parking lot on Putnam Pike (almost across from Harmony Post Office)
With cooler temperatures, the Walking Club will hold its fall “Super Walk.” The “Super Walk” will be a little longer than the usual Walking Club outing – approximately 5 miles and 2½-3 hours long. Note: Wooded walking trails typically feature uneven paths with rocks and tree roots to maneuver. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and bug spray. Be ready to hit the trail at 8 a.m.
Wood Slice Pumpkin Decoration
Monday, October 28, 6 p.m., and Wednesday, October 30, 10:30 a.m.
Harmony Library
Participants will decorate a circular slice of wood with paint, artificial leaves, and greenery in preparation for the fall season. All materials will be provided. Note: Please register for only one class. Registration will open on Tuesday, October 1st at 6 p.m.

Join us for a discussion of Murder in the Marais by Cara Black. Copies of the book are available at the Harmony Library. Join us for our new monthly Fantasy Book Club. We will be discussing the debut novel Books of Doors by Gareth Brown. This book is full of magic, adventure, and romance. The Book of Doors opens up a thrilling world of contemporary fantasy for readers of The Midnight Library. Copies of the book are available at the Glocester Manton Library.
