YWLA Updates

Team YWLA,

Please meet our School Resource Officer, Krystal Simmons. Officer Simmons is a Fort Worth PD Officer on the YWLA campus to protect and serve EVERYONE each school day. You may see her outside during arrival and dismissal, but during the day she is inside and outside checking the perimeter of our campus, checking exit doors, looking into classrooms and stairwells, and overall ensuring that we are safe.

Also, please meet our Campus Monitor, Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith is from the FWISD Safety and Security Department. In addition to performing three (3) exit door audits a day, Mr. Smith is on post each morning greeting your GEMS and welcoming them into the building.

SAFETY and SECURITY are our TOP PRIORITY here at YWLA.

Each person at YWLA plays a role in safety. If we see something...we say something. Thank you for your patience at the front door as we do thorough checks before granting admission in the building. Thank you for bringing information to our attention. Thank you for putting your trust in us!

Mark your calendars to support the YWLA JV & Varsity Teams at our annual 🏐YWLA Pink Out Game 🏐 at Wilkerson-Greines on Friday, October 18th.

YWLA Pink Out Shirts are on sale now for $25 and come with one ticket to the YWLA Pink Out Game and one hour of community service. Money made from the Pink Out shirts will benefit the Careity Foundation who helps cancer patients in Tarrant County. Pink Shirts are available for pre-sale until Friday, September 27th.

21 - HS Round 1 All State Audition at Alvarado HS 7AM - 5PM

26 - MS Choir (7th / 8th ) Grade FWISD All City Choir Audition

Please view the testing dates below and ensure your student is present and on time each day. Please support your student with getting adequate rest and arriving on time for breakfast at 7:40 if they'd like to eat at school. Thank you, in advance, for your support. Reminder: Fridays, students may choose to wear a YWLA t-shirt/sweatshirt, with uniform bottoms. This includes shirts from Camp Jolt, Day of the Girl, Athletics, etc.

If a student has received a College Readiness Award t-shirt/sweatshirt, they may wear this any day of the week except Monday.

There are no Hoodies or Crocs allowed at YWLA.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS each class period of the day! One days absence, equals four (4) absences on all A and B days, and eight (8) absences on a C day.
