The Lion's Roar Newsletter
March 29, 2025
Dear Families,
These last few weeks have gone by so quickly and it's hard to believe that next week April will begin. Here at Lunenburg Elementary, we are looking forward to a fantastic spring! We are planning for our annual Trashion Show, exploring field trip ideas, and preparing for our spring concert.
Last weekend we celebrated March with the 18th Annual Maple Fest held here at school. More than 220 people attended from all over, including the state of Ohio. That's amazing! During the day participants were served breakfast with local maple syrup, watched slideshows created by our students, had the opportunity to see art work, and visit exhibits and local sugar houses. Congratulations to the winners of the Maple Fest Art contest, including 5th grader, William Carpenter who not only one first place, but also received the Judges Choice award. Thank you to the members of the Top of the Common for making this event so exceptional!
Have a great week!
With love and gratitude,
Mrs. MacQueen
Monday Activities Canceled
Due to the inconsistent weather, Burke has closed for school groups and we'll be canceling the remaining Monday activities. When the weather gets warmer, we'll be planning a few experiential outdoor activities to make up for the missed weeks.
VTCAP Testing Starts This Week
It's that time again when our 3rd thru 5th grade students will take the VTCAP tests (Vermont Comprehensive Assessment System). Testing will happen in the morning and afternoons for the next three weeks. We will not test on Mondays or Fridays. Math will be administered next week, ELA the following week, and Science the week before vacation. It's imperative that students get enough sleep and come prepared to test. If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
