Principal's Message
Dear Allenwood Families,
I want to thank you for helping to make the beginning of the school year a success for our students. Our young dragons have adjusted well to the new school year and appear excited to come to school. Here is some helpful information to consider as we transition into the regular routines of the school year.
Allenwood Elementary School is excited to invite all parents and guardians to Back to School Night, which will take place on September 18th from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers, learn about the curriculum, and understand our school's procedures. We believe that when parents are involved and informed, it enhances the learning experience for our students. We hope to see 100% of our parents attend this important event!
Our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) plays a crucial role in supporting our school and fostering a strong community. We encourage all families to join, volunteer, and participate in PTG activities. One of our upcoming events is the PTG Color Run on September 19th at 5:00 PM. It is going to be a fun, vibrant event, and we would love for you and your children to join us in this colorful celebration!
Allenwood is also looking forward to our first Birthday BINGO event on September 27th, where we will celebrate all students who have birthdays in the month of September. It is going to be a fun-filled day, and we hope our September birthday stars have a blast! Reminder: No Goody Bags.
We kindly ask that parents do not send in goody bags for students to distribute to the class. For the well-being, safety, and fairness of all students, goody bags will not be handed out. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we can make this a successful and memorable year for our students!
Sincerely,
James Sterenczak
Principal

WTPS Meal Application Information
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Children need healthy meals to learn. The Wall Township Board of Education offers healthy meals every school day at the prices listed on the WTPS website. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals and Summer EBT benefits.
The printable packet includes an application for free or reduced price meal benefits/ and a set of detailed instructions. For a convenient way to fill out the meal application go to https://www.payschoolscentral.com. WTPS utilizes PaySchools as an online lunch account for children to use to purchase lunch on a daily basis.
If your child received federal free or reduced price school meals during the 23-24 school year, please remember you need to complete a new application for the 24-25 school year prior to October 15, 2024.
If you choose to opt out from completing the meal application, you may fill out the linked Google Form.
If your children receive federal free or reduced price school meals, they may also be able to receive free or low-cost health insurance through Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare. Children with health insurance are more likely to get regular health care and are less likely to miss school because of sickness.
Because health insurance is so important to children's well-being, the law allows us to tell Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare that your children are eligible for free or reduced price meals, unless you tell us not to. Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare only use the information to identify children who may be eligible for their programs. Program officials may contact you to offer to enroll your children. Filling out the School Meals and Summer EBT Application does not automatically enroll your children in health insurance.
If you do not want us to share your information with Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare, you will have the option if submitting the meal application online via PaySchools or you may fill out the printable form and send in (Sending in this form will not change whether your children get free or reduced price meals).
Thank you for your cooperation.
