SJF Jr. NEWS
April 2025
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear SJF Jr. Community,
Welcome to April, a Month of Awareness, Learning, and Perseverance!
As we step into April, we embrace a month rich with opportunities for reflection, awareness, and growth. April is Autism Awareness Month, a time to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion. It is a beautiful reminder that every individual’s uniqueness makes our school community stronger. Let us continue to nurture empathy and celebrate the diversity of minds and hearts around us.
April is also Sikh Heritage Month, offering us the chance to learn about and honour the history, culture, and contributions of the Sikh community. Through stories, discussions, and shared experiences, we aim to foster respect and appreciation for the richness of different cultures and beliefs that shape our world.
In addition, we continue to focus on our school theme of perseverance, which is going wonderfully well. Students are learning that with patience, effort, and resilience, they can overcome challenges and grow stronger. The values of pride, self-esteem, and determination are being woven into daily learning, helping students build confidence and recognize their own potential.
Let us keep encouraging one another—students and staff alike—to strive, support, and succeed together. April is a month to celebrate differences, cultivate kindness, and continue moving forward with purpose and heart.
Have a wonderful week,
Mme Durand

Drop-off circle
We kindly ask for your continued attention and caution when using the circle for drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon. It is essential to come to a complete stop at the stop sign located at the exit, as staff members are also entering and leaving the parking lot at these times.
By respecting the stop sign and being mindful of your surroundings, we can prevent inattentive incidents and ensure the safety of everyone—students, staff, and families alike.
We truly appreciate your cooperation and commitment to keeping our school environment safe for all.
Thank you for your support.

SEED and Lunch news
Our SEED team plans activities that follow the school’s educational project.
Over the next few months, we will be focusing on increasing activities in these areas:
· To improve the French language skills of our students.
Ex: Read a French story or play French music.
· To increase Social-Emotional Learning
(SEL) practices in school.
Ex: Breathing break, brain gym, or yoga.
· To improve SJF Jr. presence in the
community.
Ex: Send pictures of the children participating in activities for social media, the bulletin, or the daycare memo (respecting the media release list).
A seasonal bulletin was created and sent out to SEED parents in March.
On Tuesday, April 22nd,2025, the daycare is closed, and no service is offered.
May 16th, 2025, the pedagogical day has been changed to April 28th, 2025, due to the elections.
