Next week begins "Peace Week" at Riverview. There is information below about the meaning behind "Peace Week" and the spirit days that coincide with each day.
We will end next week with our annual fall festival at Kerby Farms from 5:30-7:00. We hope everyone can attend this fabulous event. Details are below.

Peace Week- Sept. 30- Oct. 4
The month of October marks the nationwide recognition campaigns for Bullying Prevention and Drug Awareness. Our goal is to empower Riverview Falcons with the knowledge they need to stop bullying in our community and teach skills for living healthy, drug free lives. We will be holding a peace week and red ribbon week as a culmination to our month-long celebration. Our theme this year is Lights! Camera! Kindness! Peace week spirit days will be Sept.30-October4th, and red ribbon week spirit days Oct.28-Nov.4. Spirit days are below. During counselor time we will discuss ways to use kindness to prevent social isolation, practice assertive communication using our words and I-messages and learn how to recognize and report bullying. We will also learn how to be kind to ourselves by making healthy choices today and every day.
October Character Trait- Kindness
This month our character trait focus is on Kindness. We are using a movie theme for this year’s Peace Week. Lights, Camera, Kindness. We will be learning and talking about ways to show kindness to ourselves and others. Lessons will focus on being kind and bully-free. Our world needs more kindness. Our definition of kindness is acting with understanding, generosity, and care.
At home have the conversation about what kindness means to you. The following activities are ways to focus on kindness at home:
- Kindness Jar: Create a jar where family members can add notes about kind acts they’ve done or witnessed. Read then together at the end of each month.
- Compliment Challenge: Each family member takes turns giving genuine compliments to everyone else. It’s a great way to boost confidence and spread positivity,
- Kindness Walk: Go for a family walk and look for opportunities to spread kindness, like picking up trash, complementing people, or helping someone with groceries.
- Gratitude Practice: Each night at dinner, share one thing you appreciated about someone else in the family. It fosters gratitude and kindness.
November character trait is Gratitude
