Chapel
This week, Pastor Paul Poppe from Faith Baptist Church in Chetek spoke at our chapel. He shared the story of William Tyndale. Before sharing the story, Pastor Paul discussed how God expects us to work hard. The command to work began in Genesis. School can be hard work, but it is honoring to the Lord when we work unto Him and give our best.
William Tyndale was a brilliant man who knew ten different languages. He set out to be the first person to translate the Bible into English. Some opposed what he was doing, and they were trying to kill him. He escaped narrowly once, but his work was destroyed. At that point, he had translated most of the Old Testament. Rather than giving up, William Tyndale began again, starting with Genesis 1. Today, we have the Bible in English because of his diligence, hard work, and perseverance.
Next week, Pastor Aaron Brown from Maranatha Free Church will speak at our chapel time. All are welcome to attend our chapel, which is every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
Field Trips
We were able to have good discussions about the opposing worldviews of creation vs. evolution as the cave tour included many comments from the evolutionary worldview. Fall is a beautiful time of year, and we were so thankful for the great weather to enjoy these field trips!

Bible Class
Psalms was written by numerous authors including King David, Asaph (the chief musician), the sons of Korah, Moses, and King Solomon.
The book of Psalms contains 150 individual psalms which are divided into five different collections or books. These books were designated by whomever originally compiled the psalms. Eventually, the five books were placed together in one large “songbook”. Although scholars have proposed a number of reasons that the books are compiled as they are, we really don’t know how the content of the books was decided upon.
Most psalms have a title. For example, the title in Psalm 3 says: “A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.” These titles were not added later by translators, but are a part of the inspired Scripture. They are different from the chapter headings that appear throughout the Bible—those were added by translators. Be certain to read the psalm titles as you go through Scripture.
--From our Bible Roadtrip Curriculum
Students are memorizing the following verses for the first week:
K-3 Students - Psalm 103:8-10
4-5 Students - Psalm 103:8-13
6-8 Students - Psalm 95:6-7, Psalm 103:8-13, Romans 5:17-18
Psalm 103:8-10, "'The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities."
Reading this week included the following:
Psalm 77, 86, 91, 100, 103 (K-3)
Psalm 77-78, 84, 86, 89, 91, 94, 100, 101, 103 (4-5)
Psalm 73, 77-78, 83-84, 86, 89-91, 94, 98, 100, 101, 103, 105-106 (6-8)
Questions to ponder:
- What pattern do you see in the laments? Can you think of a reason it may be important to remember that God is good, just, and holy even in times of trouble? (Psalm 77)
- Read Psalm 86 verses 5, 11, and 15 again. What do they tell you about God?
- How can Psalm 91 be a comfort to you in your own life? What promise does God make to his faithful followers in Psalm 91:14-16? Do you think Psalm 91:16 means believers will have long lives on earth, or that they will have eternal life?
- What does Psalm 100 call us to do? How can you make praising God part of your day?
