Upcoming Food Drive
The BES Student Council, along with the Berthoud House of Neighborly Service, is hosting a food drive to support local families this holiday season. The food drive will run from Monday November 18th through Friday November 22nd. Students can bring any non-perishable food items that are not past their dates. Additionally, the House of Neighborly Service has created a list of items that they are looking for this time of year to use in holiday baskets. (See the list at the end of this article.)
Thanks so much for helping our school support families in need in the community. We will be having a little friendly competition among classes to add to the fun of the event. Prizes will be awarded to the class that collects the most food items by the end of the week. Any non-perishable food item is worth one point, but specific items from the holiday list count for two points! We hope everyone has fun while we work together to support our Berthoud community!
While any non-perishable goods are welcome, here is a list of specific items needed for the holidays:
- Potatoes - boxed (mashed, au gratin, etc.)
- Stuffing/Stove Top
- Pie filling (canned)
- Cranberry sauce
- Canned yams or sweet potatoes
- Biscuit/roll/cornbread mixes
- Gravy (jars or mixes)
- Chicken broth
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Green beans (canned)
- Hot cocoa
The Holiday Shop Is Coming Soon!
Mark your calendars - the annual holiday shop is coming back to BES! Between December 4th and 10th students will have the opportunity to purchase gifts at school for their family and friends. More details will be coming to you in next week's newsletter!

Technology New From TSD
Dear Families:
Thompson School District is excited to introduce a new tiered approach to student communication tools that is designed to enhance digital security and foster responsible use of technology across grade levels.
From limiting e-mail access for younger students to preparing high school students for real-world communication, these changes aim to provide age-appropriate access to e-mail and chat while safeguarding against potential security risks.
We invite parents and guardians to read more about these updates and see how they benefit student learning and digital safety at every stage.
Thank you for your support,
Thompson School District
