Random Acts of Kindness at Lykins
Random Acts of Kindness at Lykins
Hello Lykins families,
Lykins is proud to announce our random acts of kindness. Each week Bobcat Bennie and Bobcat Betty will be joining a different classrooms. During their visit, students will lead a random act of kindness for the school or Celina community.
Ms. Sanchez's Kindergarten class spread kindness last Friday. The students created cards to give to a nursing home. We know this will brighten some people's day.🧡

5th Grade End of the Year Awards and Walk-Out
Thursday May 23rd, our annual 5th grade Memory Walk will begin around 2:00, immediately following 5th grade End of the Year Awards. At this time, our 5th graders and their teachers will walk through our hallways to commemorate our 5th graders' time at Lykins. Teachers and students from grades Kindergarten-4th will line the hallways to cheer our 5th graders on as they make their way into summer and soon, to middle school.
Instead of the regular 5th grade dismissal on Sunset Drive, our 5th graders will exit through the front doors of the school as they remember the way they entered Lykins many years or months ago. Our 5th grade parents are invited to gather at the front of the school to greet their children as they exit the building. This is a great time to take pictures and spend a few moments saying goodbye to Lykins. You may bring signs or banners for your 5th grader, but we ask that you DO NOT bring water guns, silly string, confetti, air horns, or anything else that would be disruptive to those around you. Also, 5th grade parents, please make sure you do not block our 1st and 2nd grade carpool lines.
Kindergarten- 2nd grade parents who usually wait in this area for carpool may experience some congestion so we ask that you are patient as our 5th graders exit.
5th grade parents, please plan to move along quickly so 1st and 2nd grade carpool can start.
We look forward to this new tradition and the memories it creates.

A Note From Our Nurse
If you child has medication in our clinic that will need to be picked up by May 23th. We cannot send any medication home with your child or keep it in the clinic over break. If the medication has not been picked up by this date, we will properly dispose of it. If your child is going to need this medication again next school year, you will have to bring it to the school at the beginning of next year and fill out a new form. These rules apply to both prescription and over the counter medication. Please refer to our website for additional information about medications, required forms, managing illness in school and our district policies.
Thank you,
