We are excited to announce nominations for the 2024-25 PWCS Teacher and Support Employee of the year are now open. These awards are an opportunity to recognize the hard work and commitment of our staff.
Numerous criteria are used in evaluating the nominees. EDUCATORS are looked at for their abilities in the classroom and in communicating their message to a broad audience. SUPPORT STAFF are considered for their work performance, school/community involvement, commitment to their school, and positive manner within the school/community.
To NOMINATE a Porter EDUCATOR and/or SUPPORT EMPLOYEE who goes above and beyond and excels in their profession, please complete the online nomination form using the link below. The deadline to submit your nominations is Friday, December 6, 2024.
We are thrilled to be launching our new HOUSE SYSTEM for Porter middle school students... to foster community, character, and school pride. Students will join one of four Houses: VALOR, ENDEAVOR, RADIANCE, OR UNITY.
Monday, November 25th.............The BIG REVEAL
Tuesday, November 26th............SPIRIT DAY celebrations
β Students earn points for positive behavior, achievement, and community involvement.
β Fuels friendly competition and encourages positive attitudes.
β A HOUSE SCOREBOARD will be showcased near the cafeteria.
β Each House will be guided by faculty "House Heads" and student leaders.
β Promotes TEAMWORK, INCLUSIVITY, and LIFELONG LEARNING.
β Helps unite our school in a spirited and supportive environment.
There are 3 days remaining to purchase your HONEY BAKED HAM gift cards. This is a yummy way to add a turkey, ham, sides or desserts to your holiday meals!! Please consider ordering a gift card from Honey Baked Ham. 20% of each gift card purchased will come back to the Porter PTO.
This event is a favorite of students and staff! This year's theme is CONNECTING WITH NATURE! Students will learn about Science and Nature through Art.

Porter was just awarded our 3rd PURPLE STAR award for our commitment to our military connected families. Because of this award, we have the opportunity to receive a large grant to fund many Porter academic programs!! The federal money used for the grant comes from YOUR ANSWERS ON THE IMPACT AID SURVEY. Please take a couple of minutes to complete the survey, via your ParentVue account.

3) Scroll to the "IMPACT AID" button....click and follow the directions on the survey.

Once again, the Woodbridge High School Varsity cheerleaders are hosting a SKILLS CLINIC and the opportunity to PERFORM with the varsity cheerleaders during the halftime performance at one of their basketball games!

β FRONT DESK GREETER 2.0....Many of you will remember (pre-covid) we had parents sitting at the front hallway, opening the door for visitors. It was a great way to earn volunteer hours. NOW, we have a new opportunity...Sitting in the front vestibule/foyer area to direct visitors to the front office, once they walk through the EVOLV screener. The monthly sign-ups can be found on the Porter website under the VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES page.

β Front Office VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES...we've created a VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP for any miscellaneous volunteer work we have for the front office. We will keep it updated as opportunities come up...so, be sure to look at it periodically.

The CAFETERIA is always available for volunteers, any day between 11am - 1:45pm. Just come into the front office, sign in, and get your 'volunteer' sticker. We do ask that you work at least 1 hour.
