This is your hub for our weekly learning, upcoming events, and reminders.
It will be a new link every week!
Conferences and Report Cards
- Report cards will go home after the first 9 weeks (in October).
- You will be invited to a conference around that time.
- You are always welcome to request additional conferences!
What is eOS?
eOS is a wonderful tool that helps us hold students accountable for meeting our Wellington Creed Expectations each day, while also allowing us to reward them for going above and beyond those expectations!
Student behavior will be tracked at least 3 times per day (reading, math, specials). This will give them their employability percentage.
- Our school goal is for our individual employability to be at or above 95%.
WEL-MART
e-bucks
Students also have the opportunity to earn “eBucks” to spend in our school store “Wel-Mart.” Students can earn dollars in two ways:
Focus Taps- $1 eBuck rewards for students going above and beyond in areas such as kindness, hard work, etc.
eBuck Rewards- eBuck rewards for larger amounts for meeting goals on assessments, attendance, and safety.
“Wel-mart” is our school store. Students will have the opportunity to shop our school store that is stocked by our awesome PTA, once every 9 weeks.
If your student falls below 95% employability, they may not get to shop. This is challenging goal! We do not expect students to be perfect but want their goal to be ambitious, yet, attainable.
Family Engagement
BACKGROUND CHECKS
- If you would like to go on a field trip or if you choose to volunteer at school (Book Fair, School Store, etc) you are required to complete a background check. This does not include visiting at lunch.
- Please note that if you choose to attend a field trip you will be asked to help lead a group of students. We ask that any siblings please refrain from attending the trip.

MAP Testing and ESGI
MAP Testing
Students will take the MAP test 3 times this year. Once at the beginning of the year, once in December and one final time at the end of the school year.
MAP test allows us to see where students begin the year and to see their growth throughout the year as they continue to learn and grow.
As teachers we also take the data given to us from MAP scores to form groups and to help us drive instruction.
ESGI
ESGI is a quick assessment format that is completely digitally. Every Friday students will be assessed on the letters, sounds and words that were taught that week.
Data collected each week allows teachers to understand who has mastered the content and may benefit from enrichments and who may need additional support.
UFLI
- UFLI is our comprehensive phonics curriculum. UFLI is based on the Science of Reading.
- Students will learn 2 letters and sounds each week as well as sight words or heart words.
- Heart words are high-frequency words that have an irregular spelling pattern and doesn’t follow the standard rules of spelling. Ex: said.
What We Teach
We plan our lessons based on the Kentucky Academic Standards for Education. We only teach what the standards lay out for us.
Teachers follow a district pacing guide to help us plan lessons accordingly.
