Weekly Principal Note
We are in the beginning of Term B, so students have started two new Unified Arts classes unless they are in full-year band, chorus, or full-year 8th Grade Spanish. Grades for Term A will be available on Monday, December 9th. There is a tutoring sign-up link below, as well.
We have some concerts coming up for Chorus (December 11th) and Band (December 16th). We hope to see you there!
Ed Elements is offering virtual focus groups for the Rochester School District Portrait of a Graduate/ Vision of a Leaner on December 11th and 12th. The details are below!
Finally, we have a Spirit Week the week of December 16-20th. Information is below.

Update from Rochester Central Office.
First Four Snow Days:
- These will be traditional snow days for students.
- These will be work from home days for staff.
- These days will not need to be made up at the end of the year.
Massive Power Outage During First Four Snow Days:
- In the event of a significant power outage affecting the district, these will be snow days for both students and staff, and the day(s) will be added to the end of the school year for staff only.
Subsequent Snow Days (After the First Four):
- These will be remote learning days for both staff and students. We will follow our remote learning day schedule.
Massive Power Outage During Subsequent Snow Days (After the First Four):
- If a major power outage occurs, these days will be added to the end of the school year for both staff and students.
School cancellation announcements via our alert system will include notification of the type of day that it will be (snow day/work from home day, remote learning day, or snow day for students and staff. Let me know if you have any questions.

Portrait of a Graduate/Vision of a Learner
As we move forward in our work with Education Elements to support the development of a Portrait of a Graduate/Vision of a Learner there will be several virtual focus group opportunities.
Here is a list of dates and times for the groups :

Please complete this RSVP form. Someone from Education Elements will send a calendar invite with the Zoom link and an email with further information. All responses and feedback gathered during the focus group will remain anonymous and will be facilitated by our partner in this process, Education Elements. Please feel free to share this information with the appropriate groups!
RMS Book Club
Rochester Teen Night
Join us for Teen Night at the Rochester Rec Center! This is a fun program for teens to come hang out and just be teens. We offer games, activities, crafts, and, of course, PIZZA and music!
Please note: No outside food or drink is allowed. Teens may bring an empty refillable water bottle.
Who: Kids 12-17 years old. 6th graders who are not yet 12 will also be welcome to join*. This program is open to Rochester residents and those who attend school in Rochester. Participants must present a Rochester School District ID at the time of entrance.**
When: The first Saturday of the month from 6pm-8:30pm, Dec 7, Jan 4, Feb 1, Mar 1
Where: Rochester Rec Center
Cost: Program is free. Pre-registration is not required, but it strongly encouraged. Those who pre-register will get fast pass entrance access.
*11-year-old 6th graders must be registered in person, either in advance at the Rec Office or at the time of the event.
**Teens who do not attend school in the Rochester School District but have a parent/guardian who lives in Rochester may register using the parent's address. Proof of parent/guardian's residency will be required. We ask that parents/guardians register in-person to verify proof of residency.
