August has arrived, and we're excited to welcome you back for another school year! We hope your summer was filled with fun, friends, family, and relaxation. Here's to another fantastic year as we build on our successes and embrace new challenges. Have a wonderful school year!

Plan to attend your district NMMEA fall business meeting. This is a great way to meet others, get ready for the school year, and learn about important updates and business matters. Dates can be found in the NMMEA calendar or on your district's section of the website. See you there!

The beginning of the school year is a great time to let others know you appreciate their efforts! This week's challenge is a great way to kick off the year right.

• Introduce yourself to your custodian and bring them a small gift.
  

Effective immediately, NMMEA members will need to use new login credentials to access the website. While your login will still be linked to your NAfME membership, you will no longer access it through the NAfME website. To ensure a smooth transition, please make sure your NAfME credentials are current.

When accessing the website, the following credentials will need to be used:

• Username: Email associated with NAfME membership
• Password: NAfME member number

Once logged in you may change your password.

Plan ahead and make sure your membership is renewed with NAfME in a timely manner so that you can meet registration deadlines. Due to the website login change, credit card renewals will take 24 hours to become active on the NMMEA website.

Plan to attend the All-State Audition Town Hall on September 30th at 6:00 pm to go over audition procedures and processes.

Middle and high school teachers, consider starting a Tri-M chapter at your school. A Tri-M® Music Honor Society chapter opens up a world of opportunities for students who have already shown themselves to be academically capable and musically gifted. Through performance and community service, they’ll develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, compassion, and a host of other leadership skills sure to serve them well in school and beyond.

Congratulations to all the nominees and recipients of this year's NMMEA awards. Plan to attend the Awards Luncheon at the 2025 All-State Music Festival & In-Service Conference to honor this years recipients.
