Getting to school on-time!
We greatly appreciate when our Greer Panthers arrive to school on-time! The cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:15AM and our students stay in the cafeteria until 7:35 AM when we dismiss for morning walk. The first bell rings at 7:45 AM and students then walk to their lines.
Staring Wednesday, August 21st, we will close the gates at 8am and students will have to enter the cafeteria and check in to get a late pass before heading to class.
Also, starting Monday, August 26th, parents will no longer be allowed in the hallways unless checking in at the office and getting a visitors pass. Parents can do morning walk with students and go with their student to their line. After that, families can say bye and students will go with their class. If students arrive late, staff will escort them to class. This will minimize disruptions to the classroom.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that your student receives every second of an amazing education at Greer!
Drop-Off Procedures
Safety is our number one priority, especially in the morning! Please review our Drop-Off Procedures:
Do not park your car or leave your vehicle unattended in the Fire Lane!
If you would like to park your car and walk your student into school, please park in the designated parking spots. To avoid disrupting the flow of traffic, please do not park your car in the driveway. Reference the map for the driveway that designates the drop off/pick up area.
Use crosswalks for safety as you cross the streets.
Do not allow your child to exit through the door on the side of on-coming traffic.
Please do not double-park in order to drop off or pick up your child.
Pick-Up Procedures for 1st-5th Grades
School ends at 2:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Thursdays, school ends at 12:45.
To address safety and the business of the end of the day, we will not call students out for early dismissals after 2:00 (12:35 on Thursdays).
Students will be brought to the front of the school in designated areas at dismissal time.
Use crosswalks for safety when crossing the streets.
Please do not double-park in order to pick up your child.
Older students should find their younger siblings and wait for their rides at their youngest siblings' pick up point. If you are picking up more than one student, you should plan to meet them at the pick up location for the youngest student in the group.
Students who are walking are dismissed once they arrive at the front of the school and check out with their teacher.
Please help keep the flow of traffic moving by having doors unlocked and working with Greer staff to get your students into your car as quickly as possible.
Students who are frequently picked up 30 minutes or more after dismissal will be referred to Safe Schools.
Parents and Guardians on campus
Beginning Monday, August 26th, we will not be allowing parents or guardians in the hallways. Our students know where they need to go and there are plenty of staff members to guide them to their classes. If you, or your student(s), need additional assistance, please let the office know. All parents or guardians must check-in with the office and receive a Visitor's Pass after 8AM.
Early Dismissals
We know that sometimes students need to leave early and we appreciate your cooperation letting the office know ahead of time. Starting Tuesday, August 20th, there will not be any early dismissals beginning at 2 PM. Most classrooms are packing up and walking out to the front during this time. Please plan accordingly if you need to get your student early. Thank you!
