Message From The Principal

Greetings Tigers Family,

Our Tiger faculty and staff have been working diligently to prepare to welcome your children and our Tigers back to campus. I have noticed a deep sense of excitement and momentum among our team, and I just know it's going to be a wonderful school year. It's hard to believe that in one short week, our first day of school will be upon us! This is a reminder for freshmen or new students to join us for Tiger Camp on Tuesday, August 6th. We will meet in the arena and begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. All families and students are welcome to attend. We'll cover the basics, logistics, and important reminders, and get you acquainted with the building so you can find your classes easily. We want you to be comfortable with the surroundings on our first day. Please take a moment to review the points of emphasis and reminders in this newsletter. We are excited to welcome our new students tomorrow at Tiger Camp, and we wish the rest of you a wonderful week ahead. It's a great time to be a Tiger! #TPND

Points of Emphasis and Reminders to Start The Year

Lunchtime at Carroll - Food Deliveries is Not Allowed

CCISD campuses are "closed campus" for lunch, requiring students to eat lunch on campus. This means no students can leave campus, and no deliveries are allowed, and students are to eat on campus. CCISD parents will be allowed to have lunch with their student, however this mostly happens at the elementary level. Outside deliveries such as food, gifts, etc. will not be allowed.This is a district-wide policy to maintain a focused and disruption-free learning environment.This policy also helps minimize interruptions during the school day and ensures that all students have equal access to the school's food services. By adhering to this policy, we can collectively contribute to a more organized and productive school experience for all.

Parking at Carroll HS

As we begin the new academic year, please be aware of the updated campus parking map. The map includes color-coded areas for designated parking zones:

Yellow (Student Parking): Students can park in the designated yellow areas on the Kostoryz side.
Light Blue (Staff Parking): Reserved for staff members only
Dark Green (Visitor Parking): Visitors should use the green-marked area for parking, located at the main entrance.
Red (No Parking Zones): These areas are strictly no parking. This includes the Band Practice Lot, Arena Parking Lot, and other specified red zones.

Please ensure that you park in the appropriate areas to avoid any inconvenience. Note: The Arena area parking lot is open at dismissal for parents to park and wait for thier child after school.

Clear Back Packs Continue in 2024-25

Just a reminder, the clear backpack policy that was implemented last year will continue to be enforced in the 2024-25 school year for all students across every grade level in CCISD. This policy requires all students to use clear plastic backpacks only. This measure helps us quickly identify the contents of each backpack and ensures a safer, more secure environment for everyone. Backpacks that do not comply with this requirement will be collected and held until they can be retrieved, in order to maintain the integrity of our safety protocols. We appreciate your cooperation and support of this policy to help us create a safer school community.

Class Schedules

Schedules are available on Home Access and are currently being finalized. We are allowing schedule changes during the first 5 days of school. A Google form will be open from the morning of Monday, 8/12, and will close on Friday 8/16 at 4:00 p.m. The link will be posted on our website, and QR codes will be placed around campus for students to access the Google form. Counselors will process requests in the order they are received and will contact students when they address their request. They will either change the schedule or explain why the schedule cannot be changed. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor.

Dress Code for 2024-25

Our campus dress code is designed to align with district guidelines while promoting grooming and hygiene, minimizing safety hazards, and ensuring a positive learning environment. Students are expected to dress and groom themselves in a clean and neat manner that does not pose a health or safety risk to themselves or others. Additionally, we prohibit any clothing or grooming that could disrupt or interfere with classroom instruction. Power Hour (Tiger Time) Arrives for 2024-25

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of POWER HOUR at Mary Carroll HS for the upcoming year. Although we will begin the school year with a traditional bell schedule, we plan to implement this initiative in early September after a few weeks of establishing structure. This dedicated hour during the school day will give students the opportunity to catch up on assignments, receive extra help from teachers, participate in clubs, or have some well-deserved downtime. Your support and feedback for this opportunity has shown us the value of this program, and we hope our students take full advantage of this time to enhance their learning and community engagement.

Electronic Hall Passes in 2024-25

We’re excited to announce the continuation of our E-hall pass system after a successful trial run last year! This digital pass system has streamlined hall pass requests, improved security, and reduced classroom disruptions. Active participation and positive feedback were crucial in making this initiative a success. As we move forward, we look forward to enhancing the culture at Mary Carroll High School and the experience of the E-pass system.

Returning Student Registration Reminder

Online registration for your returning Tiger is now available. Please review the email with the subject: "Corpus Christi Independent School District Returning Student Registration" that was sent to the email address associated with your child. Log in to the Home Access Center to start and update registration. Make sure to click the 2024-25 returning student registration form link, verify the information, make any necessary corrections, and submit the form. This ensures that all contact and pertinent information is up to date for your child. Returning student registration needs to be completed by August 7th.
