Sachse Mustang Band UPDATES
MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
Already into district PLAY and starting preparations for our Music For ALL Selection!
Hopefully everyone can breath a bit better now that we have passed HOCO. We have so many exciting thigs to add in to our show in the next week! A lot of the things that really start to make our show tie together and look amazing are coming in all within the next week. We already have some of the prop prints in, colorguard uniforms, flags and more to come next week with band tops, all the tarps and final pieces of our show; we will be busy next week trying to get as much on the field as possible! Parents, you should have already received and returned the sign-off for using UDB. If you have not, please ask your student for this, we will be following up on this in the next week. In addition, to all the FUN, next week is the end of the grading period so we have a SUPER important grade check coming next Friday. To help with that stress level, we will be push back the start and end time of Monday's rehearsal to 4 PM- 6:30 PM. In addition, we have recently been in some ZOOM meetings regarding our Music For ALL trip. The wind ensemble and percussion ensemble that recorded last year were both selected to perform at the National Concert Band Festival. Below are some links to the communications about what this event is. If your student is in the current Wind Ensemble or in the percussion studio, you will need to plan to attend an informational meeting with a parent for the event on Monday, September 23, 2024 in the Bandhall at 6:30 PM.

Band Seating at HOME Football Games
Our section for HBJ games will be adjusted this year, this was not just for HOCO.
This new area allows us to have plenty of space to function at Games and should have space for any parents wanting to sit with us in our section at the top.
CHARMS is OUT, Cuttime is IN
As many of you know CHARMS was purchased by another company and recently switched over. The new system seems to be very easy to navigate and hopefully makes logging in to your student's account much easier. If you have not yet received a welcome text message, we are still working to get missing guardin information into the new system. Once we get everyone in, it should be much more user-friendly. Thanks in advance for your patience during this transition.
GRADES and Football Games (repeat)
Please make sure that you are taking care of attendance at all rehearsals.
On weeks we have a football game, ANY Student with an unexcused absence during the week will not attend the game with us, instead they will have an alternate assignment. Obviously, we want everyone at the game, however, all students must also make rehearsals a priority.

SKYWARD FEES
This year's skyward fees will be added in the next few weeks. Please plan on making your first skyward payment in October. This means that CHARMS/ now Cuttime Fees should be paid in full by the end of this month. The only exception would be those on a different payment plan and new guard or percussion that will still be completing CHARMS fees in October.
BAND Fees (CHARMS/ SKYWARD) NOW Cuttime
Cuttime Fees
At this time, all fees should be made through Cuttime. Please make sure that you have paid your first $400 toward your CHARMS account by the end of August! If for some reason, you are behind with this balance, please get caught up by the end of July. If you are unable to do so, please contact Mrs. Taylor and the treasurer to set up a payment plan.SKYWARD Fees will need to be paid AFTER all charms fees are paid in full. For returning members, this will likely be September, New Members/ and all guard and percussion this should be September/ October.
Sectionals will be on Wednesdays throughout the summer from June 12 through July 17
JULY 3 will be NO SECTIONALS and the bandhall will be closed.
These will be scheduled by section leaders between 9 AM and 2 PM and are typically one- two hours.
If you are out of town and cannot attend a sectional, please communicate that to the section leader and copy Mrs. Taylor via e-mail.
Any student wanting to take summer lessons, be aware that Wednesdays will also be the lesson day for teachers using our campus for their lessons.
Eligibility
The end of 6 weeks will be the first grade check that causes students to lose eligibility. All assignemnts need to be taken care of by the end of the school day on September 20. Please make sure that students are keeping up with all classes and have no missing work. We need all students passing and eligible to have the best possible contest season!

BAND MUSIC
At this time, we've transitioned all of our music to BEAM for students to access so we can keep the most recent versions of all things available to them. BEAM is through the UDB app and allows students to access music from their phone through this app. If your student has an iPad or tablet, they should be able to put their UDB app on that device and access music as well.
