We are now full swing into the month of October. Big month ahead. You can see the entire month of October below under the 'Important 1st Quarter Dates' tab. I have highlighted a few things here --
Parent / Teacher Conferences:
- These are 'In-Person' at WMHS. I hope that you can make it one of the days, to see your scholars teacher
- 10/9 from 5-8pm
- 10/10 from 2:30-5:30pm
Picture Re-take Day:
- If you missed our first round of pictures
- 10/24
End of the 1st Quarter:
- It is very important that every scholar gets their grades up as high as they can right now, as the Quarter is ending in a few weeks!

Homecoming 2024 is in the books. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 for being out Spirit Week Champions!! Thank you for participating!!
Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a federally funded program that we are fortunate to have here at WMHS. This program is designed to assis, encourage, and motivate students who have the potential and desire to continue their education beyond high school. Currently there are 69 students in the program. Beginning October 4, 2024, new students will be able to begin application process. Please stop by the Upward Bound Office (in the library) for more information.
- New Member recruitment process:
- Interested students will need to come to the goal setting meeting on either Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 2 - 3 or on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 6:30 - 7 am.
- Essay is due on Friday, November 15, 2024.
- Application and tax information are due Friday, December 13, 2024.
- Interviews will be Monday, January 27, 2025 through Friday, January 31, 2025, by appointment.
- Selection committee will meet on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
- New recruits will be announced on Friday, February 7, 2025
- If you are interested in Upward Bound but not in 9th grade, come see Mrs. Webb or Ms. Moore in Upward Bound offices to get a pass for presentation.
- Field trip to Plymouth Orchard on October 16, 2024.
Interact
Interact is a community service based club. Each week they meet to plan and implement various service projects while having fun, meeting new people, and eating snacks.
First meeting is Monday, October 7, 2024 2 pm in room 101. Please see Mrs. Webb with any questions.
Bright Futures
Counseling, College, & Career Readiness News
Counselors, CCR, your College Advisor, and Career Counselor will be presenting to seniors on Tuesday, October 8 regarding plans after high school. This will include making Parchment accounts for seniors to send their transcripts to colleges.
Champions of Wayne - It's not too late to join!

Did you forget to submit your contract amongst all of the Homecoming festivities? You still can join! The deadline to join has been extended for 1 week only! The new deadline is Friday, October 11th!
