We are honored that you chose Biomedical Preparatory at UTSW as your child's learning experience. Whether you have received an acceptance letter or are on the waitlist, we hope that we can answer any questions you may have about our program, campus, and community.
Our campus education will help your child develop curiosity, creativity, resilience, leadership, innovation, and empathy. Our school fosters a positive and encouraging learning environment designed to meet the whole child's needs. Students are supported in becoming active seekers of knowledge and responsibility for their motivation to work independently.
Students on our campus are exposed to hands-on and diverse learning experiences every day inside and outside the classroom. Exceptionally designed Biomedical materials invite students to engage in learning with all of their senses.
In addition to their class, students experience visits from world-renowned medical doctors and scientists, hands-on activities with hospital staff, medical simulation, foreign language studies, through an educational app, robotics, and coding with specialized instructors during the school day.
We look forward to meeting you, working with your family, and welcoming you to our campus community that best serves all of our children.

Principal's Message
Greeting families,
My name is Roberto Gonzalez and I will be serving you as the principal of the Biomedical Preparatory at UTSW. As you may know the school is a partnership between Dallas ISD and UT Southwestern; the school will offer students a program focused on biomedical sciences, which will stimulate curiosity about the wonders of science and also provide children a foundation for future discovery.
I have served Dallas ISD families since 2006. Born and raised in Colombia, I graduated from the Universidad de Cartagena and my first career was as a medical doctor in underserved communities; I served the public and private health system in Colombia. Upon my arrival in the United States, my lineage of educators encouraged me to try education and I was hooked; I started as an early childhood educator at a Dallas ISD Elementary school.
I believe in the power of relationships, not only with students and staff, but also with the community at large.
I have been happily married to Yamila Musa for thirteen years and we have three children, ages 13, 7, and 5.
