Our Pelicans are off to a fantastic start this year exemplifying the Peli-CAN spirit! The first week of school went smoothly, and we're thrilled to have our Peli-CANS back on campus! We eagerly anticipate all they'll achieve this school year!

Here are some dates to add to your calendar:

• September 2: School will be closed for Labor Day.
  
• September 3: SAC meeting at 4:30 pm, PTO meeting at 5:00 pm in the Media Center. All are welcome to join!
• September 10: Curriculum Night

Pre-K through grade 2: 5:00-6:00 pm
Grades 3-5: 6:00-7:00 pm

Poinciana Elementary School is moving to the paid lunch system, but you may still qualify for free/reduced lunch by completing a meal application as soon as possible to receive assistance. Breakfast will continue to be offered at no cost. Please see below for the link to the free and reduced lunch application.

It is essential that the office be able to contact parents in the event of an emergency. Please ensure that we have on file your correct home phone number and address, your work phone number and address, and the name, address, and phone number of a person to contact in the event you cannot be reached. Parents can do this by updating the online Emergency Information Form in the CCPS Parent Portal or by calling the office at 377-8100. If this information changes during the year, please notify the office immediately of these changes.

We wish to communicate some important changes to our school nutrition programs. Please note that beginning the 2024-2025 school year, Poinciana Elementary School is moving to the paid lunch system, but you may still qualify for free/reduced lunch by completing a meal application to receive assistance. CCPS is now offering the “Where’s the Bus” app to provide parents and students with timely information about the location of your child’s bus. Using GPS technology, this app will show you and your child how many more miles your bus is from the bus stop.

The “Where’s the Bus” app is free to CCPS families whose children ride the bus. The app is available on all devices with internet access (smartphone, tablet, iPod, personal computer, etc.) and takes less than five (5) minutes to install. Brief instructions below.
