G/T NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!
Nominations for our Gifted and Talented Program are now open!
The Fall nomination period is available only to Kindergarten and students who are new to Harmony (started after January 31, 2024).
Students can be nominated by their parents, teachers, or other staff members. Once nominated, students will be scheduled to take the CogAT test sometime during the month of October. Parents of nominated students will receive an email in October with their child's testing days and other details.
The GATE Committee uses several data sets when considering a students for the GT program, including their CogAT scores, MAP scores, and results of parent and teacher surveys. The Committee's decision will be shared in November through email and a letter sent home. If a student qualifies, they will begin receiving services in January 2025.
REMINDER FROM COACH ABEYTA - WEAR APPROPRIATES SHOES FOR PE & RECESS
In accordance with our school handbook, students should be wearing closed-toed shoes to school. Our students are in constant movement during PE & Recess. Sandals, boots, Crocs are NOT safe during PE or recess.
5 minute Window in the driveline -- it makes a difference
Our dedicated drop-off staff are often patiently waiting for cars from 7:15 to 7:25 - with very few cars coming through. AND THEN.......everyone comes at the same time:))) Our blue/green lane opens at 7 AM and the yellow lane opens at 7:15.
This picture of the blue/green lane was taken at 7:15 - only three cars in the drop-off line:))
Please consider dropping off your student a bit earlier to beat the rush. It will also give you more time to get to where you need to be in the mornings.
BE COURTEOUS in the DROP OFF/ DISMISSAL LINE
Any school's carline is dependent upon all the parties involved doing the right things:
- Please be patient with one another
- Please only enter the campus from Anderson Mill NOT through the business park behind the school.
- Take turns and ZIPPER when our lines converge
- Have your students ready to exit the vehicle - if they are not ready, pull out of the line
- Have the car ready to load students into the vehicle
- Please do not use cell phones while in the carline
- REMEMBER - We all have the same goal - to safely get our children to school and back home again!

Being Mindful of Highly Allergic Foods
Good Afternoon,
As a school, we have changed to peanut-free lunches serving students sunflower butter instead of peanut butter.
- Please be mindful of your children's lunches to avoid highly allergic foods with students.
- Remind your children to clean and wash thoroughly after lunch in order to decrease the spread of germs and potential allergic reactions to other students.
- If a student knows they are allergic to an item that another student might have close by, please have them tell a staff member so we can sit them somewhere else.
- Also, remind your children to never share their food with another student.
Student's Birthday at School
