**Date Change Updates: We changed the times of our 6th and 7th grade awards because both Parmley and Hardy have grade level awards in the morning. We want to ensure parents are able to attend all awards programs for all siblings, so we adjusted our times. We truly appreciate your understanding!
STAAR Testing
Families,
We have our STAAR tests over the next three weeks. This week, all students will be taking Reading STAAR on Tuesday, April 15th and 8th graders will be taking Social Studies STAAR on Wednesday, April 16th. You can help with your student's success by ensuring they get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast on the morning of the tests.
Students may bring snacks for testing day to help them stay focused. Snacks can include goldfish, crackers, or mints. Since the test is computer based, snacks need to not be messy, such as cheetos or takis. Please email Mrs. Soose at asoose@willisisd.org with questions.

Family Friday Engagement
Friday, May 2nd is our Family Friday Engagement.
This also overlaps with a Wind Ensemble concert at SHSU. They will be back around 12:30pm. They will have lunch, and head to 6th period. You are welcome to join them upon their return! We can go over the expectations with you prior to their 7th period class!

It’s time to put your BEST foot forward!
We’re excited to help spread the word about Lee Baron’s Fuel Your Sole grade incentive program, a fun and meaningful initiative that rewards students for their academic achievements. With up to $20 off a new pair of shoes, students can earn $5 for every A and $3 for every B in core subjects by simply showing their report card!
This initiative is a great way to celebrate hard work, encourage students to do their best, and support families with savings on back-to-school or everyday shoes. It's a powerful reminder that when we recognize effort and achievement, we inspire even greater success - both in and out of the classroom.

Birthdays
At Lynn Lucas, we love to acknowledge our students’ birthdays. We know that your child’s special day is important. We are not doing cupcake delivery, pizza for friends, or any special decorations such as balloons or gifts. Please do not send cookies or cupcakes that will be crushed in backpacks when sent home. Please do not plan to bring outside food for students other than your own.

Breakfasts will occur every 9 weeks for the months of that time period. Parents of those students are invited!
Honor Roll & Perfect Attendance Celebrations
Students who are on the A Honor Roll, AB Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance each 9 weeks will be recognized in a special celebration!
