- Students were given letters for parents to sign up for conference times on Monday.
- If your letter did not make it home, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.
- JFDS conferences are with teams of teachers, so you only need to sign up once.
How to Prepare to Have a Successful PT Conference
- Talk to your child about how school is going before the conference. What are they enjoying the most & the least? Where could they use support?
- Remember that when students are struggling at school, teachers want to work as a team to help turn things around.
- Ask your child and their teachers about ways to be involved with extra-curricular activities.
- Conferences are a two-way street. Ask lots of questions and communicate what is working well or not. Be in the loop on upcoming projects, tests, and events.
- Remember, in middle school, your child is welcome to accompany you to conferences!
Drama Club
Interested in auditioning for the school play?
- During weekly Drama Club, we get to know each other, play games and improv, learn techniques for voice and movement, basics of blocking, scene work, and technical aspects of theatre. For Drama Club in September-October, we have had 13 students participate after school on Tuesdays.
- We are excited to announce upcoming auditions for the school play, The Epic Quest of the Damsels in Distress by Kenneth Wasemann. Auditions will begin in the first two weeks in November, and the cast/crew will be announced before the week of Parent-Teacher Conferences and Thanksgiving! We will rehearse the play and work on set and costumes through the winter and early spring. Encourage your Doughty student to get involved!
- The play will be performed on Thursday and Friday, March 20-21, 2025 in the Auditorium at Doughty. Put those dates on your calendar! :) We hope to see you there!
Please reach out to this year's Drama Advisor, Angela E. Domina with any questions!
