Winter i-Ready Assessment Reports
On Friday, December 20th, your child will bring home the results of the i-Ready assessment for reading and math. i-Ready efficiently assesses students across multiple grade levels, allowing for identification of root causes of students’ struggles or for identification of areas where a student is ready for further challenge. This baseline information will then provide the teacher with a “road map” for instruction. It will be used in the following ways:
Measure student growth throughout the year; i-Ready sets two goals for students
Typical growth goal: The average annual growth for a student at this grade and placement level.
Stretch growth goal: An ambitious but attainable level of annual growth which helps students close gaps with their grade level peers.
Determine what students already know and what they need next
i-Ready gives teachers detailed information regarding how students are performing against the standards. This information will help teachers identify and close gaps in student understanding. Teachers will also be able to identify areas where students are already proficient and accelerate their learning.
The grade level band is indicated on your child’s printout with either a green band or green print above the graph, showing the scale score range for the current grade level.
Group students into instructional groups
Using information regarding student performance against the standards, teachers will be able to create instructional groups that provide targeted instruction and ensure that everyone gets what (s)he needs.
If you have any questions about the report, please feel free to contact your child’s math or literacy teacher.
