Principal's Message:
We are well into May now and already have many things to celebrate!
Our Book Fair was a wonderful success! Over $2400 in books were purchased which rewards our school to buy $900 worth of new books for our library. Congratulations to Dominick in grade 3! He won the draw for books for his family and his classroom:
Congratulations to our very own Penson Choir! They participated in the music festival and came away with double silver!
Thank you to the Penson Parent Fundraising Association for putting on our Spring Fling dance! Our school families really enjoyed the DJ and all of the treats!
We had a visit from our school liaison officer, Cst Russell in April. The students were able to ask a variety of questions and they even had an opportunity to explore his RCMP vehicle:
It was lots of fun to welcome the Math Festival into the school in April. There were many stations set-up in the gym with our older students working with the younger students to mentor some new math skills:
Thank you to Carol Procknow for the delivery of smile cookies to our school! What an amazing gesture and the students enjoyed it!
We are extremely grateful for the support from the Grovedale Community and Agricultural Society for their donation to help us bring Flyn' Bob to the school! It was so lovely to hear the laughter ringing in the halls while he performed!
Shout out to our teams who participated in the Tri-District 3D Ball Hockey and Soccer tournament! We are very proud of all the players!
Student Council Corner
Hello Penson School,
This month our school's choir (Grades 5-8) got to go to the Local music festival in Grande Prairie and they did absolutely fantastic! They sang two songs “Donkey Riding” and “Melodic Song”. They received silver for both their songs! Once the festival was over the choir group got to go and enjoy ice cream as a treat! Huge congratulations to the Penson Choir group!
This month we also had our math festival held by the Grades 6/7/8. All the grades in the school got to stop by all the stations and play all the fun games!
