Be a CGS Parent Ambassador!
As you may already know, we have student ambassadors who welcome newcomer students when they arrive. This year, we would like to expand that idea to welcoming families to our school community. The hope is that we will have at least one parent from each grade level willing to communicate by email with new families. The parent ambassador will not need to come into school and will work primarily through email to correspond and share updates with families. The ambassador will be a communication director of sorts, sharing knowledge of our school community, answering questions (or seeking information when unknown) and being a kind supporter of our new families. The ambassador would only work with the grade level they choose. If interested, please reach out to me @keproietti@methuen.k12.ma.us and note AMBASSADOR in the subject.
Thank you!
Chromebooks and Chargers
Chromebooks are a vital tool that students use daily. When students do not bring the charged Chromebook to school, it directly impacts them.
We recognize that there are several Chromebooks being repaired. The district IT team is working as quickly and efficiently as possible to get them fixed. Students with a repair are supplied a "loaner" Chromebook for the day, as long as we have them available. Loaner Chromebooks are given to students who have a Chromebook being repaired before they are given to a student who did not bring their Chromebook to school. Please partner with teachers to ensure that your child's charged Chromebook comes to school daily. If you need a new charger, please email teachers and they will connect with the secretaries.
Thank you!

Handle with Care
If a student is experiencing any personal difficulty at home, we would like to provide additional support at school. We understand that you are not always able to share details and that is OK. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning or weekend, please email the teacher with the subject βHandle with Care.β Nothing else will need to be said or asked, unless you want to share. This will let the teacher know that your child may need extra time,
patience or care during the day.

Collective Bargaining Agreement
The Methuen School Committee is actively bargaining with the Methuen Education Association for Unit A (teachers) and Unit C (program assistants). In an effort to be transparent about the process and information being shared, there is a new link on the MPS website titled collective bargaining updates. This page will be updated as needed as negotiations continue. Methuen School Committee values all MPS educators and the need for fair and equitable contracts while working within the constraints of the MPS operating budget.
