If you have more than 1 child currently attending Wildwood, please complete a separate form for each child. This form should take less than 1 minute to complete.

Help Us Retain Our Crossing Guard – Walk or Ride to School!
The City of Thousand Oaks will be monitoring our Arboles/Velarde crosswalk usage in February and March to assess the need for crossing guards in future school years. To ensure we meet the required threshold during the count (which will occur on an undisclosed school day during these months), we encourage as many students as possible to walk, bike, or ride scooters to school and utilize this crosswalk during this period.
Your participation helps demonstrate the importance of maintaining safe routes to school for our students. Thank you for your support in keeping our community safe and thriving!
Keep Toys at Home
Wildwood Elementary kindly reminds families that toys should be left at home. Bringing toys to school can cause distractions, lead to lost or broken items, and create unnecessary conflicts. Keeping toys at home helps students stay engaged in learning and fosters positive social interactions. We appreciate your support in keeping our learning environment focused and safe for all students. Thank you for your cooperation!
STEAM Assembly Rescheduled - Please volunteer
Our STEAM Museum Assemblies at Wildwood Elementary have been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 26! This program will turn our multi-purpose room into a state-of-the-art, hands-on children’s museum focused on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Students will rotate through stations to experience robots, virtual reality, 3D printing, art, engineering, and more!
Every student will have the opportunity to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience, and we need parent volunteers to supervise some of these self-run stations at these assemblies. Please take a look at THIS form and consider signing-up to serve at one (or more) of our seven grade level assemblies.
Wildwood Talent Show
If your child tried out for Talent Show, they should have received a letter on Friday. Here are a few reminders-
- The blue page is for your reference about practice, dress rehearsal, and the show.
- Please return the white page to the front office by Thursday, February 13th. This is necessary for your child to be able to stay after school one day for practice. Be sure to note your child’s practice day and time. There is only one practice, and they need to stay for the entire practice on that day in order to be in the show.
- The yellow page is for ticket pre-sale orders. You can order up to 4 tickets per family. Please return this with your cash donation to the front office any time between February 26th and March 3rd. All remaining tickets will go on sale in the front office on a first come first serve basis beginning Wednesday, March 5th until the show sells out.
- If music is needed for your act, please email an MP3 version of the song to Mrs. May (michellemay@conejousd.org) by Wednesday, February 19th. Please see the video directions below if you need help converting it to an MP3.
- All props that you plan to use for the show must be at your practice. No props will be added on March 7th.
Thank you for your cooperation! We are looking forward to a fun show!
All music will need to be converted to MP3 files. Here's a YouTube video to guide you in how to do this. All music will need to be emailed to Michelle May at michellemay@conejousd.org in MP3 file format by February 21.
Shoe Tying Recognition
During the next few weeks, the principal will be out at many recesses handing out small prizes to TK-2nd grade students who demonstrate their ability to tie their shoes. Since success is a series of small victories, please be practicing with your young Tigers so they can claim this victory and win a prize.
School Spirit Day - February 28
Hello Wildwood Families!
I would love to make ice cream with the kids but need 3 lb metal coffee containers with the plastic lids for our mixing. If you or your work use them, I would love the empty containers. I've seen them sold at Costco so hopefully someone out there in our community buys their coffee in bulk!
Other wish list items (open and partially used is total fine):
- Corn Starch (the kids are begging to make Oobleck again this year)
- Vegetable Oil (for a density experiment)
- Corn syrup (density again!)
- tin foil
- baking soda

FUN & Easy Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited to share two wonderful opportunities to volunteer at Wildwood and make a positive impact on our students’ school experience!
Create: Arts & Crafts with Students
- When: Thursdays, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM
- What: Join us for a fun, hands-on session where students get to express their creativity through arts and crafts. This is a highlight of their week and a great way to connect with them!
Take a Look, Take a Book
- When: Last school day of the month, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM (first recess)
- What: Help students check the lost and found and pick out a book to take home. This event encourages reading while giving students a sense of ownership and excitement about books.
If you’re interested in volunteering for one or both events, please let me know as soon as possible. We would love to have your help in creating these memorable experiences for our students.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference at Wildwood!
Best regards,
