December Family Messenger
2024
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Character Word of the Month- Humility
I will recognize the needs of others. I appreciate everyone has different strengths.
House Food Drive
Black House Altruismo collected the most cans!! This is very fitting as Altruismo is the House of Giving! Way to go! As a school, we collected 1,258 items for our local food pantries!
1st Place Altruismo- 453
2nd Place Isibindi- 319
3rd Place Amistad- 315
4th Place Reveur- 171
Thank you for the donations and helping those in need!
Festival of Trees
During November House meeting time, our Blue Jays made ornaments and decorations for the Festival of Trees at St Peter's UCC in Washington. It's so pretty! Huge shout out to the staff who organized this activity and decorated after school before Thanksgiving. The Festival of Trees can be seen on weekends from 5-7pm, free admission, food donations are accepted!
2nd/3rd Christmas Program
Mr. Logan has been busy prepping our 2nd and 3rd Graders for their Christmas Program! We are super excited to see our Blue Jays perform in The Incredible Reindeer on Tuesday, 12/17 at 6:30 PM. Doors will open at 6:00 and students are to be in their classrooms no later than 6:15.
TJs Pizza Fundraiser
Order forms have been sent home and will be due back NO LATER than 12/6 due to the short turn around with delivery on 12/20. We can NOT store items over winter break, so please be sure to have someone pick up your order if it can't go home with your child on the bus. PTG is raising money for a new projector and screen in the gym!
Cornhole Tournament Save the Date
Save the date for Saturday, 2/8! PTG is hosting a Cornhole Tournament to help raise additional funds for a new projector and screen! This will be our biggest fundraiser of the year. Classes will once again have a themed basket in the auction. More info to come in the January Family Messenger.
FastBridge Reports
Our students are just about finished with FastBridge testing and the family reports will be sent home on January 6th. Please sit down with your Blue Jay and review their progress. We will take our last round of FastBridge assessments late April/May. So much growth to still happen! 2nd quarter report cards will be sent home on January 8th.
Happy December! I hope you all had a wonderful November full of blessings and gratitude.
What a fast and furious 2nd quarter already! We had an amazing turnout at our Halloween parties and it was so nice to see so many family volunteers and visitors in the building. Our Veteran's Day program was absolutely wonderful! Our 4th graders sang their hearts out and we are proud of their hard work. Thank you Mr. Logan for helping honor our veterans . There are so many fabulous things to be grateful for here at Marthasville. We are successful because of the consistent support, care, donations, positivity, and trust that is given! I am blessed beyond measure to be your child's Principal and Lead Learner. I hope you all have a wonderful December, full of memories, love, light, and giving.
If you ever need help or have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out via email, call, send a Parent Square, or FB messenger- I am here for you and I truly do appreciate your feedback and support. We are looking forward to all the exciting holiday events this month- Happy December!
Most Caring,

Notes from the Nurse
Now that the weather has consistently been colder, we are asking for students to dress in warm clothes and wear coats. We have outside recess twice a day, pending temperature and inclement weather. Students go outside until it is 10 degrees or below (including wind chill) so please ensure they are bundled up! We have some backup coats, but no gloves, hats, or scarves. If you have any to donate we would appreciate it.
