The Connection Week 8 Term 4
Huapai District School 9th December 2021
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
This is our final newsletter for the year.
I wanted to thank you again for all you have done through this unprecedented and challenging year.
Much of what marks our end of year (assemblies, prize giving, celebrations and sharings) are not happening this year, which makes the finish even more unusual.
I would like to acknowledge your children. The attitude and the resilience they have shown is a great statement of their character and testament to the support, care and lengths you have gone to to help - thank you.
I thank our staff. Our school is made up of so much more than teachers, it’s also about our support staff and operations staff. We have a tremendous team here who have risen to the challenge of COVID and remained steadfast in their commitment to children.
All the very best for a holiday and safe break over January. Here’s to hoping we have a settled and more typical year in 2022.
Regards,
John Petrie
Principal

Twas The Week before Holidays...
Twas the week before holidays
At Huapai School,
We’re back with our friends,
Now isn’t that cool?!
The school shoes are flung
On the field without care,
In the hopes that St Nick
Might bring a new pair.
The children are happy,
The teachers are too
But all so tired,
And ready to be through.
In a year like no other
With lockdowns galore,
None of us could guess
What covid had in store.
Now zooming, now distance,
Now scanning, now masking,
Go parents! You’ve done it!
So much multitasking.
But as the weather warms up
And we must say goodbye,
We’ll remember 2021
With more than a sigh.
‘Cos through all the chaos
And unsettling fear,
We’ve seen grit and resilience
In our students this year.
They’ve shown courage and laughter
They’ve given their best
So happy holidays to all,
And to all a big rest!!
Maree

Friday 10th December will be our last day for online learning as all school devices need to be returned at the latest by Friday, if not earlier. Thank you to all the parents who have supported their kids online learning - it has been a blast!
