Reminder: Order Your Graduation Gear Now
Attention Graduates:
If you haven’t ordered your cap and gown yet, please make sure to do so as soon as possible. You can place your order online at thegraduationcenter.com. All graduates will be wearing the same cap, gown, tassel, and stole unit, and sizing options will be provided during the checkout process.
If you plan on borrowing a gown from a friend or sibling, be sure to still order the cap and tassel unit to match your classmates.
Delivery will take place in May at the high school. More details will be provided soon, so stay tuned! Don’t wait—order today to ensure you’re fully prepared for your graduation. Any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mrs. Hamberg in the Senior Office.

Graduation Announcement Delivery
March 19th and April 2nd
- Graduation announcements will be available for pick up during your lunch shift on 3/19 and 4/2.
- If you do not have a lunch shift at the school, you are able to come up to the high school during lunchtime to get your order. Please check in with the front office. Otherwise, those announcements will be left in the Senior Office. Please reach out to Mrs. Hamberg to schedule a pick up time.
- All day LEAD students will have their announcements sent to the LEAD Center.
- Siblings and parents are allowed to pick up these items during the lunch shifts and after.
Cap and Gown Delivery
April 29th and 30th During Lunch Shifts.
- Caps and Gowns will be available for pick up during all lunch shifts on April 29th and 30th.
- Afternoon off-site students are able to pick up their orders before leaving for their program at 10:30am.
- If you do not attend the high school because you are virtual, you may come up to the high school to pick up your order. Please remember to check in with the front office.
- All leftover orders will be in the Senior Office after the 2nd delivery day. Please reach out to Mrs. Hamberg to pick up your order.
- All-day LEAD students will have caps and gowns sent over to the LEAD Center.
- Parents and siblings are permitted to pick up your caps and gowns.
Order Your 2025 Senior Yard Sign
Ordering for the Class of 2025 Senior yard signs is open.
- Proceeds from sign sales will fund PTSA scholarships for 2025 graduates!
- Signs are $15 each and will be delivered to you.
- Complete the form and submit payment to order your sign.
- Orders will be accepted from February 17 to March 14. Signs will be delivered during the week of March 24.

WCC Prom Boutique 2025
Woods Chapel United Methodist Church will host its annual Prom Boutique, 4725 NE Lakewood Way, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This event provides free prom dresses and prom accessories, plus a limited number of men’s suits and tuxedos to high school students. The Prom Boutique will feature 1,500 new or almost-new prom dresses from size 0 to size 32. Basic alterations will be available on-site. Boutique guests may also select a pair of shoes, a purse, and jewelry appropriate for prom or other special events. A smaller, separate section of the boutique features men’s dress suits, shirts, ties, and shoes.
Boutique hours will be:
March 12: 1 PM to 7 PM
March 14: 1 PM to 7 PM
March 15: 9 AM to 1 PM

Students are matched to local scholarships and interest-free loan programs after completing a general application. There are so many opportunities for Missouri students. You must make an account, but this is a great resource for finding scholarships for the Kansas City area.

74th Greater Kansas City Science & Engineering Fair
Science City at Union Station is proud to continue the tradition with the 74th Greater Kansas City Science & Engineering Fair to help our community grow a science, engineering, math and technology (STEM) literate workforce. The role of a Science & Engineering Fair in STEM education is increasing, as students learn about science and engineering practices by using them in their investigations. The experience of thousands of teachers and students across all grade levels and subject areas, backed by research, confirms that project-based learning is an effective and enjoyable way to learn the competencies required for success in career and civic life.

UMKC Pharmacy Camp
Engage with current faculty and practicing pharmacists, view experiments in the lab and interact with current students to find out what it’s like to be a pharmacy student at UMKC.
Event Highlights:
Join us for a one-day, fun-filled pharmacy camp in June!
- Take part in making actual medicine in the compounding lab.
- Hear from community pharmacists about their daily roles.
- Interact with clinical pharmacists in specialty practices such as oncology, pediatrics, cardiology, emergency room and more.
- Learn from School of Pharmacy faculty and students about what it's like to be a member of UMKC at all three campus locations

Firefighter Training
Jan. 7th - May 21st.
This course will prepare students to take the MO. Division of Fire Safety certification exams in order to become certified firefighters. Additionally students will be trained to take the state exam in hazardous materials incident response at both the awareness and operation levels.

What is it? Select public institutions will charge no more than 150% of in-state tuition and select private institutions will offer a 10% tuition discount. Visit the MSEP website for a list of participating institutions. Out-of-State Colleges offering In-State or Reduced Tuition for Missouri Residents. Students should verify the tuition details directly with the college admissions office as information can change without notification. Discounts may be available at other colleges not listed below.

FAFSA IS NOW OPEN!
The 2025–26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now available. You can complete the form to apply for financial aid for attendance at college or career school between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
If you successfully submitted your FAFSA form during the beta testing period, you don’t need to resubmit it.
FAFSA forms submitted online will typically be processed in one to three days. Once your form is processed, you’ll be able to review your FAFSA Submission Summary and your FAFSA information will be made available to your selected schools.
You also can make updates or corrections (such as adding a school or a missing signature) to your FAFSA form.
Prepare To Fill Out the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form
Here are some ways you can get ready to fill out your FAFSA form:
Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).
Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.
Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.
If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.

ACT Testing 2024-2025

- The RayPec High School code is 262580. That is what students use to indicate that they are a RP student so their scores get sent to us.
- Raypec High School is a testing location for ACT national test dates. The RayPec Test Center Code is 166690. This is what students use to select RP as the testing location.

This class includes practical and relevant information on how to increase your ACT score. It shows you how to control the test and not let it control you! The workshop covers what will be on the test and how to master test-taking techniques. This class is not a practice test! Learn general ideas about the ACT as a whole and the individual tests:
English- Learn what ACT test-writers are looking for and how to approach different types of questions.
Math- Learn what problem-solving skills and math skills you need.
Reading - Learn your best method for doing well on ACT reading.
Science- Learn common question types and what’s really required to do well
After School ACT Prep Class for February/March
To take the ACT Prep Class at RPHS, you need to sign up by Fri, Feb 21 in order to ensure materials are available by the start of the class. Registration will be capped at 25 students. You will be paying for the materials that you will keep. You will pay online or you can see Ms. Harmon in the finance office to pay with cash or check.
- The cost for the materials will be $45 and includes practice tests as well as online access.

A+ Information
Mid-Year Status has gone out for all student who have completed the A+ agreement. Please check your emails.
The A+ program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school in the state of Missouri. The state legislature must appropriate funding for the A+ tuition benefits to be accessed.
MAINTAINING YOUR A+ REQUIREMENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL
To maintain your A+ eligibility, you must meet the following requirements:
- Attend an A+ School for two consecutive years prior to graduation
- Graduate with an unweighted overall GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale for grades 9-12 (Notice: The Department for Higher Learning WILL NOT ROUND UP to meet the GPA requirement.)
- Graduate with an overall attendance rate of at least 95 percent for grades 9-12
- Perform 50 hours of district supervised, unpaid tutoring or mentoring
- Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the use of alcohol and unlawful drugs (No More than 10 days of OSS to be qualified or 20 points)
- Must score proficient or advanced on the state level Algebra I End of Course Exam OR must have a combined ACT math score AND high school GPA in accordance with the attached scale.
