Course Planning Night 2025
RPHS Course Planning Night will be January 22, 2025 from 5-7pm. This evening is a great opportunity for families to learn about courses, programs and opportunities offered through Raymore-Peculiar High School. There will be informational sessions, a sophomore orientation, and a department fair to share information regarding courses. Advisors will also be available to answer questions. Please see attached newsletter for detailed information.
For Seniors, this will be the opportunity to participate in FAFSA Frenzy. The FAFSA is a financial document that college bound and some trade schools use to award grants and student loans. We will have financial aid representatives to help families fill out the FAFSA.

HBCU College Fair and Showcase 2025
Park Hill South High School is excited to host our annual HBCU College Fair and Showcase to share with our community opportunities for attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We are hosting an in-person event consisting of a panel discussion and booths with representatives/alumnae of HBCUs.

Students are matched to local scholarships and interest-free loan programs after completing a general application. There are so many opportunities for Missouri students. You must make an account, but this is a great resource for finding scholarships for the Kansas City area.

Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy
The underlying purpose of The Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy is to provide first hand experience of the role of Law Enforcement in promoting and safe - guarding American freedoms and rights.

Missouri S&T National Society of Black Engineers PCI Weekened
Interested in NSBE or life at Missouri S&T? The event will be hosted on our beautiful campus from February 27th – March 2nd, 2025. It is a free event available to any high school student: public, private, charter, or homeschool, grades 9-12. Students do not have to be black nor an engineer to attend; it is open to any student who wishes to experience the campus culture of S&T!

Firefighter Training
Jan. 7th - May 21st.
This course will prepare students to take the MO. Division of Fire Safety certification exams in order to become certified firefighters. Additionally students will be trained to take the state exam in hazardous materials incident response at both the awareness and operation levels.

What is it? Select public institutions will charge no more than 150% of in-state tuition and select private institutions will offer a 10% tuition discount. Visit the MSEP website for a list of participating institutions. Out-of-State Colleges offering In-State or Reduced Tuition for Missouri Residents. Students should verify the tuition details directly with the college admissions office as information can change without notification. Discounts may be available at other colleges not listed below.
Eligibility Criteria: Multi-state tuition reciprocity program between select institutions in KS, IL, IN, MN, MI, MO, ND, NE, & WI.
FAFSA IS NOW OPEN!
The 2025–26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now available. You can complete the form to apply for financial aid for attendance at college or career school between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
If you successfully submitted your FAFSA form during the beta testing period, you don’t need to resubmit it.
FAFSA forms submitted online will typically be processed in one to three days. Once your form is processed, you’ll be able to review your FAFSA Submission Summary and your FAFSA information will be made available to your selected schools.
You also can make updates or corrections (such as adding a school or a missing signature) to your FAFSA form.
Prepare To Fill Out the 2025–26 FAFSA® Form
Here are some ways you can get ready to fill out your FAFSA form:
Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).
Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.
Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.
If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.
FSA ID Assistance

ACT Testing 2024-2025
Go to Missouri ACT for more information about future ACT testing.
- The RayPec High School code is 262580. That is what students use to indicate that they are a RP student so their scores get sent to us.
- Raypec High School is a testing location for ACT national test dates. The RayPec Test Center Code is 166690. This is what students use to select RP as the testing location.
ACT Power Prep
When: 3/10/2025
From 8:00am-12:45pm ( Lunch is not included)
Where: Ray-Pec High School
This class includes practical and relevant information on how to increase your ACT score. It shows you how to control the test and not let it control you! The workshop covers what will be on the test and how to master test-taking techniques. This class is not a practice test! Learn general ideas about the ACT as a whole and the individual tests:
English- Learn what ACT test-writers are looking for and how to approach different types of questions.
Math- Learn what problem-solving skills and math skills you need.
Reading - Learn your best method for doing well on ACT reading.
Science- Learn common question types and what’s really required to do well
After School ACT Prep Class for January/February
After School ACT Prep Class Registration - We will be offering a 2-week after school prep course before the national ACT Tests given in October, December, February, and April.

A+ Information
Mid-Year Status has gone out for all student who have completed the A+ agreement. Please check your emails.
The A+ program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school in the state of Missouri. The state legislature must appropriate funding for the A+ tuition benefits to be accessed.
MAINTAINING YOUR A+ REQUIREMENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL
To maintain your A+ eligibility, you must meet the following requirements:
- Attend an A+ School for two consecutive years prior to graduation
- Graduate with an unweighted overall GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale for grades 9-12 (Notice: The Department for Higher Learning WILL NOT ROUND UP to meet the GPA requirement.)
- Graduate with an overall attendance rate of at least 95 percent for grades 9-12
- Perform 50 hours of district supervised, unpaid tutoring or mentoring
- Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the use of alcohol and unlawful drugs (No More than 10 days of OSS to be qualified or 20 points)
- Must score proficient or advanced on the state level Algebra I End of Course Exam OR must have a combined ACT math score AND high school GPA in accordance with the attached scale.
