Wolman Elementary Newsletter
October 31, 2024
News from Ms. Ricks, Principal
It has been a FUN week of learning at Wolman Elementary! We finalized our House Growth Awards and celebrated Mr. Wolman's birthday on morning announcements! And our Red Ribbon Week thematic dress days have also been a blast; especially today, seeing so many future veterinarians, baseball players, astronauts and more was wonderful! There were even a few aspiring educators, which was fantastic to see! Our Red Ribbon Week themes, which focused on the importance of making healthy choices were woven in throughout the week so our students were able to make some great learning connections as well! Our fun week will end with a day off of school for our Explorers , which is well deserved as they've been working hard!
As the weather (hopefully) begins to start getting cooler, please be sure that you write your child's name in his/her jacket to help in the event that it gets misplaced. Also, as another reminder, our doors open to students at 8:10 a.m.; please do not drop off your child prior to 8:10 a.m. as there are not staff available to monitor. Lastly, any treats/treat bags for birthdays and/or holidays should not be sent to school.
November brings lots of great events so please read the information below regarding upcoming events and campus and PTA news! Our Third Grade Veterans Program will especially be a great event; please see the flyer below and join us if possible! Thank you for your continued support! Enjoy your extended weekend with your children!
Veteran's Day Performance
Join our Third Grade Explorers as we honor those who have served our nation with a special Veterans Day Musical Salute! Our public performance will take place Thursday, November 7 at 6:00pm in the RJWE Gym. All families, friends, and veterans are welcome!
Chromebook Reminders
Student ID's for Bus Riders
Student ID’s for Bus Riders
As a reminder, ID’s are required by all students entering the bus and in order to ensure safety, failure to enter a bus and a campus without a student ID cannot occur. Students were provided two ID's at the beginning of the school year; one of which was attached to their backpack. If your child has misplaced his/her ID, parents will need to provide a replacement. Bus riders who fail to have an ID may be suspended from transportation services. We appreciate your assistance with ensuring your child's ID stays attached to his/her backpack for safety purposes. Please contact your child's teacher if he/she needs a new student ID. Thank you!
New Procedures Regarding Lunch Visitors
It has been great seeing so many lunch visitors! As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the 24-25 Lunch Visitors Parent Permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student. Please note the following: Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings. PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. The following links will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!

We currently have 615 PTA members and are so grateful for each and every one of you! But we’re not stopping there—the next achievements we are aiming for are:
Generations Award: Let’s show the love across generations! We need 50+ grandparents to join our PTA. Invite the grandparents in your family to help us reach this special goal.
Voice for Every Child Award: This is Texas PTA's most prestigious membership award, and we are striving for one voice for every child at Wolman! We need every family, teacher, and community member to join. Imagine the impact we can make with your voice included.
Even if you haven’t joined yet, it’s never too late to be part of something incredible.
