There are MANY (most) marching bands around here rehearsing over the Labor Day weekend. We have not done that...we need some time to go have fun and relax. Here is where you and your individual work comes into play. You will learn the 3rd movement on your own on your time Saturday, Sunday or Monday durning the break. You can learn in 15-30 minutes what it would take the entire group to do in 3 hours. So...let's try this learning experiment again. We did this for some of movement 2 and it was a success (except for those few that didn't do the work and had to come to the sideline). We will run the ENTIRE 3rd movement set to set with music when we return on Tuesday.

• Oboes & Bassoons will need their oboe or bassoon AND marching instrument in class
• Horns, Euphoniums, & Tubas will play their marching instrument in class this week

Remember- Region Jazz Auditions are on Wednesday, September 20 at Plano West Senior High School. Entry fee is $11, and Mrs. Stone can collect your entry.

We will continue to learn new tunes, new scale patterns, challenge our improvisational skills, and listen to our all-state etude performances.

Class this week: Continue to clean Parts 1+2 and Flag pole taping (Monday)

• Part 2 flags taping the pole purple, Rifles will get a head start on ORANGE closer flag poles. All will get 2 more swing flag poles and tape GREEN if times permits.
• Bring all equipment to the gym EVERY day. You never know when we might need to switch gears
• PEP RALLY ON FRIDAY - you will be dismissed with the band at 11:35AM during 4th period. Wearing black tank + leggings, hair in ponytail (not show-ready standard, just natural) and bring your FANS

Wylie ISD has approved the school calendar for 2023-24. This includes a fall break; however, all athletic and fine arts contests, rehearsals and productions will still run during that week. Meaning, even though WISD has a fall break scheduled, there will still be a football game and contests. This means there will be rehearsals too. Below is our plan for that week, so if you are looking to go away some time, here are the dates we will have games, rehearsals and contests.

We have had more people sign up than expected (235 signed up!). This has made the travel company add rooms and flights. Since they have to go back to vendors, they activated registration again to go through this WEDNESDAY.

Chaperone spots are all sold out; however, non chaperone adult packages are still available.
