MONDAY AFTERNOON STUDY HALL
Monday afternoon from 4:30-4:55pm will be STUDY HALL for all students. It is also snack time...so bring a snack. We expect mature diligence on your studies. If you are not studying, you might lose your position in the competition group, as well as a conference with your parents and Mr. Dixon.

- If you need to be excused for that time occasionally for another club/school activity, please let me know at least 1 day in advance so I can plan accordingly or possibly help you do both things.

Working on memorized music including 1st, 2nd, 3rd movements of marching show.
- Flutes, Clarinets, Bass Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, & Trombones will play their concert instrument in class. Marching instruments will be used outside.
- All reed players will use cane reeds during inside rehearsals (synthetic reeds are for outside rehearsals and football games only)
- Oboes & Bassoons will need their oboe or bassoon AND marching instrument in class
- Horns, Euphoniums, & Tubas will play their marching instrument in class this week

JAZZ BAND
Remember- Region Jazz Auditions are on Wednesday, September 20 at Plano West Senior High School. Entry fee is $11, and Mrs. Stone can collect your entry.
We will continue to learn new tunes, new scale patterns, challenge our improvisational skills, and listen to our all-state etude performances.

Class this week: Continue to clean Parts 1+2 and Flag pole taping (Monday)
- Part 2 flags taping the pole purple, Rifles will get a head start on ORANGE closer flag poles. All will get 2 more swing flag poles and tape GREEN if times permits.
- Bring all equipment to the gym EVERY day. You never know when we might need to switch gears
- PEP RALLY ON FRIDAY - you will be dismissed with the band at 11:35AM during 4th period. Wearing black tank + leggings, hair in ponytail (not show-ready standard, just natural) and bring your FANS

TWB SPRING TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY - SIGN UP EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY
TWB SPRING TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY - SIGN UP EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY
We have had more people sign up than expected (235 signed up!). This has made the travel company add rooms and flights. Since they have to go back to vendors, they activated registration again to go through this WEDNESDAY.
Chaperone spots are all sold out; however, non chaperone adult packages are still available.

- EVENT: National Youth Concert at Carnegie Hall
- WHO: Open to all members of TWB. We would like to have all students participate and perform in Carnegie Hall. Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble are expected to attend.
