Please mark your calendars for Senior Parent Night on Sept. 6th at 6pm in the Auditorium. If you have a senior, you won’t want to miss this informational evening. We’ll discuss important graduation requirements, senior perks, and post-secondary planning. Also please mark your calendars for the PROBE Fair to take place on September 20th at the Classic Center downtown from 6pm-8pm. This is one of the largest college fair expos that all students and families are encouraged to attend. This event is free and your Cedar counselors will be there too!
Scholarship Information
- The Latino Community Fund of Georgia is awarding the Angelica and Bo Young Scholarships to senior high-school students of Latin American descent with a commitment to community engagement and work. Scholarships are need-based $1,000 awards that can be used for college or technical school tuition, basic graduation regalia, or as seed capital for entrepreneurship.Applications due by September 15th. - Progressive Outreach Coalition, Inc. is offering a $750 scholarship to a student- who is raised by a grandparent, or some guardian other than his or her parents. The application can be found at www.pocgeorgia.org .

Picture Day Information!
1. Regular student portrait day is Monday, August 27. Students will be taking their pictures during their English classes on Monday.
2. Makeups for senior portraits will be held September 4-6 at Cedar Shoals. Students need to see Mr. Ginsberg in room C207 to make an appointment. The cost for the session is $30 paid to Lifetouch at the appointment.
3. 2018-19 yearbooks are on sale for a special pre-order price of $60 until the end of August. Visit bit.ly/cedaryearbook2019 or send cash or check to Mr. Ginsberg in room C207 before the end of the month. Last year's yearbook (2017-18) and 2016-17 remain available in limited quantities. We are sold out of the 2015-16 book.

21st Century and PSP
PSP offers after school tutoring in a variety of core subject areas. PSP runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, provides a snack and transportation, and there is no application necessary.
21st Century offers a variety of enrichment opportunities for students such as Chicken Wing theater, Raiders JROTC team, and various clubs and organizations. This program runs Monday-Thursday, offers a snack, and transportation, and requires parents to fill out an application. Applications can be found at the front office and are included below.

Hot Rodders/Robotics/Skills USA
We are currently looking for students interested in either Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, Robotics or Skills USA, snacks will be provided at all practices with 2 pizza parties per season, also all club students eligible for field trips to Caterpillar, Kubota, Hitachi, Carrier and Eaton
Hot Rodders of Tomorrow practice is Mondays and Tuesdays 3:45 - 6:00 in the auto tech lab with Mr. Darden
Robotics team meets Wednesdays from 3:45 -5:15. Practice is in room B214 science lab with Ms. Elder and Mr. Darden
Skills USA - practice is Fridays 3:45 - 5:15 in the auto tech lab with Mr. Darden
Chicken Wing Theatre
...is up and running! CWT is Cedar's Drama Club. We specialize in comedy and improv. Come get your funny on. Wednesdays after school until 5pm. CWT is part of the 21st Century Grant Program
Interact Club
Interact Club is an organization devoted to service and volunteer work, will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, September 4th in room C109. Student members participate in Rivers Alive Clean-up, Cedar Shoal's Talent Show production, AIDS Walk, International Potluck, campus clean-ups, and other similar activities.
