Hi Comet Families!
We are back in action and a big THANK YOU to all who attended the Back to School Fling, became PTA members, purchased shirts and yard signs and participated in the hassle free donation! All of these will enable us to accomplish big things during this school year and we appreciate your support so very much.
As we all fall back into our routines (and for our new Comets – start new ones!), we have a lot happening in the next few weeks.
We LOVE and DEPEND on our Volunteers! The CCE PTA is made up of all volunteers, and we could not do anything without so many of you raising your hands and saying “I’m in”. Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Back to School Fling…our hope and aim is to have each and every CCE family volunteer at least once (or more) per school year. We have lots of opportunities coming up, so if you see a Sign Up Genius come through, please sign up – the shifts are ALWAYS SHORT and (HOPEFULLY) ALWAYS FUN!
Thank you to the team who worked so hard over the summer to set us up for a successful start of the year. So much takes place between July 1 and the first day of school!

Register now for Fall Semester Chess Club!
Chess Club Instructor Gary Gaiffe is excited to be back on campus beginning on Monday, September 09, and running through December 2, for 11 sessions. The club will meet for one hour every Monday (barring student holidays) from 3:00 PM – 4.00 PM.
Cost is $100 for the 11-week session.
The class will be capped at 45 students, so register soon and please know registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

MANDARIN CLASS Registration Form - Fall 2024
Mandarin is returning this fall! It is offered to Canyon Creek Students as an after school program.
The class will be taught by Jiao Li. Our teacher grew up in China. She was an exchange student in Japan during her undergraduate studies, and then she pursued a master degree at Johns Hopkins U. Her diverse background makes her embrace different cultures and she has always been eager to carry the Chinese culture to the world.

Meets on Thursdays
Time: 3:00-3:45 P.M.
From September 9 to December 2, 2024
Cost: (100% of fee goes to Teacher): $65 per student with a minimum of 5 students.

CCE YARD SIGNS!
Have you seen our “Home of a CCE Comet” yard signs around the neighborhood and wished you had one? Show your Comet Spirit with a CCE Yard Sign! We have a very limited number of signs available for purchase.
Order online today HERE before they sell out!
Once purchased, we will reach out to you to schedule a time for you to pick up your yard sign. We are not able to safely send the signs home with students because of the pointed stake that comes with the sign.

LIBRARY
We are so excited to invite parent & community volunteers to the CCE Library!
There are many ways to volunteer in the library, from general library help (shelving books, helping students, check outs, etc.), to special projects (events, author visits, inventory, seasonal displays, etc.) to Book Fairs. We would love to have you come weekly, monthly, as needed or whatever works best for you!
