A Message From Mr. Wiebers
We need your assistance with helping buy and sell raffle tickets for the Mystery Box.
The Mystery Box Raffle -which I know many of you have seen around the school and church - is new to the Main Event this year. So, what’s inside the box?! That I can’t tell you. But I CAN tell you that raffle tickets to win the prizes inside are only $20 each or 6 for $100, and you do not need to be present at the Main Event to win. Whatever IS inside the box is valued at over $2500.
Our goal is to sell 500 tickets for the Mystery Box. If everyone of one our families bought or helped sell 5 tickets we would reach this goal. Please help us sell raffle tickets.
You can buy tickets after each weekend mass from now until the Main Event, someone will be available in the atrium so you can buy your lucky ticket. You can also stop by the parish or school office during regular business hours to purchase tickets if that is more convenient for you.
Funds raised through the Main Event and Annual Appeal go directly to supporting the St. Patrick School students. Thanks to past generosity, we’ve updated the playground, improved technology, and introduced a new math curriculum. This year, our goal is to upgrade the school’s 30-year-old intercom system and, hopefully, create a new computer lab.
You can use the QR code for online purchases. Your help and support makes an enormous difference for our students and school.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers

Food Bank Volunteers Needed
Our volunteer night at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank is this upcoming Tuesday, February 11th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We have zero volunteers signed up so far, so we are in need of several parent and student volunteers. We will not have a volunteer night for the month of March, so please keep this in mind for planning purposes. Contact Erin Youngblut to get signed up today!
✨The Main Event✨
The Main Event promises to be an evening filled with fun, camaraderie, and community spirit. Consider joining us on February 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn for an unforgettable celebration. The night will feature delicious hors d'oeuvres, exciting live and silent auctions, and entertainment by the talented band Not Quite Brothers. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate our successes, and contribute to the future of St. Patrick Catholic School.
Order your tickets now!
Live auction items will be available starting February 16th.
JA Volunteers Needed!
We are still looking for help leading some of our Junior Achievement classes this spring! Junior Achievement is a great opportunity for you to volunteer at the school this year. Contact Mrs. Grimm if you would like to sign up for class.
Junior Achievement (JA) volunteers are needed for the following classrooms:
Byers (K)
Rodden (1st/2nd)
Morris (3rd/4th)
Gross (5th/6th)
Wheelan (5th/6th)
Hill (5th/6th)
Junior Achievement provides fun and engaging teaching materials to classrooms, involving community volunteers as instructors. The goal is to help educate children in the areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. As a volunteer, you will visit once a week for five weeks for 30-minute classes. Junior Achievement provides all the materials and training necessary to make the experience successful for the teachers, students, and you, as the volunteer. You will work out a specific schedule with the teacher you are with once placements are confirmed.
Gold Star Teacher Nominations ⭐
Nominations for the McElroy Trust Gold Star Teacher Awards will be accepted online now. Winners are selected by a volunteer committee from hundreds of nominations submitted by students, parents, and other teachers. They're honored in a special awards ceremony where they each receive $1,000 in cash and $1,000 for their classroom. The deadline for nominations is February 20th. This is a great way for parents and students to show appreciation to the special teacher(s) in their life.
Band Solo & Ensemble Contest
On Monday, February 24th our band students will be competing at Don Bosco from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parents with questions about this contest are welcome to contact our band director, Mrs. Lawrence. Good luck to our students!
We're Hiring!
Are you, or someone you know, on the hunt for something to do while the kiddos are off learning? We're on the lookout for a kindergarten associate to join the fun from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Not sure if you can commit to the full school day? We are also open to considering an associate to work from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Get ready to team up with amazing little learners and a super supportive squad!
MathCounts Volunteer Needed
We are searching for a parent volunteer to lead MathCounts for students in grades 6-8 next year! Students meet weekly to practice doing math problems and applying mathematical strategies. The MathCounts competition occurs in February each year. Wendy Funk has led this group for many years and would be happy to share what she has done and/or have that person work with her for the last few sessions this year. Contact Mrs. Grimm if you are interested in this opportunity!
