Academic UIL
- News Writing (6th) and Feature Writing (6th-8th) need more participants! Please see Ms. Brosey (room #2418) or Mrs. Hines (room #2222) if you are interested.
- Some students still need to pick up their UIL T-shirts. See Mrs. Hines in room #2222. There are some extra shirts available. Bring $15 cash or check made out to PISD. GO HAWKS!
🚗Carpool Reminders
- There are two carpool lanes at Hays - one in the front and one in the back of the building. Follow the flow of traffic in these lanes.
- Parking lots are reserved for those who are parking and coming into the building with a purpose. Students should not be dropped off or picked up in parking lots as this creates unnecessary delays in the flow of the carpool as well as a potential hazard as students cross through traffic.
- The lane and lot by the gyms (south side of the building) are reserved for buses.
- Do not stop and let your kids out on Hillcrest Road. This causes traffic congestion as well as a serious safety concern.
- Please be courteous of other drivers, crossing guards, and pedestrians as you are dropping off or picking up your child.
From Officer Emily:
Traffic cones placed by a police officer are considered official traffic control devices, and moving them without authorization is not allowed. Drivers are required to comply with all traffic control devices, including cones placed by law enforcement. Moving cones could result in a traffic ticket or other legal repercussions.
