The Lion Line
A Letter from the Headmaster
Parents,
We will soon start the 4th nine weeks of this inaugural year of SJCA-OP. I continue to be impressed at the level of learning occurring in our classrooms daily. Our monthly Virtue Assemblies have continued to emphasis the virtues we purpose to instill in our scholars. While we are not yet at the level of competitive sports, we appreciate the opportunities our scholars have had to participate in club basketball and soccer sponsored by the Fleming Island campus. Let's continue to press on with our academic as we come up on a very welcome Spring Break.
Congratulations to our Spelling Bee representative, Eliana C., she represented SJCA-OP well at the 2024 Clay County School District Spelling Bee, finishing among the top eleven contestants our of thirty-nine schools!
As always, Go Lions!
Mr. Bradley
Headmaster

March Lunch Menu
From the Lunch Room
Each scholar needs his/her student ID with a barcode in order to make purchases. If your scholar(s) does not have an ID with a barcode, please email lunch@stjca.org. Scholars with the barcode ID will be moved to the front to expedite the line.
Please remember the menu is subject to change based on product availability.
Please review the Unpaid Meal Policy on page 45 of the Family and Scholar Handbook. The negative charge limit is $20, the cost of 5 meals.
Please use the MSB app/web version to load funds so that the campus can be cashless.
Per the National School Lunch Program, your scholar(s) must take the full meal served including the milk, UNLESS there is a medical statement on file with the school. If you have questions, concerns, or need a medical statement form, please contact lunch@stjca.org.
March 2024 Co-Curricular Calendar
SJCA's Tip of the Month
To help improve our morning drop-off procedures;
once in the drop off zone, ensure your scholar is
ready to go with backpack on, water bottle and anything
else they might need for their day. Teach them to quickly
and independently open/close car doors without the need
for the parent to exit the vehicle. Take care of all the hugs,
kisses and words of affirmation before the whistle blows
and doors open.
Streamlining this process now will prove profitable
for the 2024-25 school year as we move from 306 scholars
to 420 scholars with the addition of 6th grade.

SJCA's Music Program
Submitted by Mrs. Crosby
In January, several SJCA scholar-musicians had the opportunity to represent our school in Clay County honors ensembles: All-County Band, All-County Secondary Chorus, and All-County Elementary Chorus. Upper school musicians were selected through an audition process while Grammar school musicians were nominated on merit and virtue by their chorus directors. New this year, Grammar school scholars from both campuses came together to represent SJCA proudly in the 25th Annual All-County Elementary Chorus. It was a beautiful experience for the scholars and the music teachers alike, highlighting all that is wonderful about our curriculum. Mrs. Crosby, Mr. Garand, Mrs. Little, Ms. Smith, and Mrs. Urban would like to commend the following scholars for their musical excellence and participation in the County ensembles:
