September 13
Dear Cedar Creek Families,
We had a great start to the school year! We would like to thank our staff, students and families for a successful first full week of school. As we move into next week, I want to share some reminders to ensure we continue a successful school year.
Tips for a Successful Year:
- We recommend that you send your child in with extra clothes.
- Please label all of your child's belongings (backpack, lunchbox, etc...).
- Please be sure all forms are completed with the most up-to-date information.
- Health Office Reminders:
- All 1st Grade parents: Please complete the Medical Concerns Form (see below).
- Parents of new students must also complete the Medical Concerns Form (see below).
- Returning Students: If anything has changed regarding new medical conditions or existing medical conditions, please complete a Medical Concerns Form (see below).
- The Medical Concerns Form is also available on our website under:
- Parents --> Health Office --> Medical Forms
- Changes in Transportation must go through the main office. Please send in a note and if there is an emergency, please call the main office.
Home-School Communication:
This is the key to your child's success! If you have any questions or concerns regarding academics or classroom situations, please contact the teacher first. If there is an emergency, please contact the main office. At Cedar Creek, we work as a team to support your child in their academic and social-emotional growth. If you have any questions regarding CCS, please reach out, and I am happy to help answer or give clarification. We value your support and input.
Arrival and Dismissal:
- Safety is our top priority.
- If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please arrive as close to 8:15 as possible for arrival as to not back up traffic and create unsafe conditions in our parking lot.
- Our Dismissal Time improves daily and we make adjustments as needed.
- Thank you for your flexibility and understanding to ensuring each child and staff member's safety during this high traffic times.
Expectations Assemblies:
We held Expectations Assemblies with all grades this week to review school expectations. The central theme of the assembly was "Be Kind." We also reviewed the CCS Expectations Poster which is listed below. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these school expectations to create a positive, supportive, and welcoming environment for all students.
CCS PTA:
Our PTA held their first meeting of the year with great attendance. There are many opportunities to volunteer and help support this organization. Please consider joining. As a reminder, the only way to volunteer at PTA-sponsored events is to be a member! It only costs $9 per year!
Trunk or Treat:
Our district is hosting Trunk or Treat again. We need your help! We will be collecting candy bag donations. The class with the most donated bags will earn a party of their choice (ice cream, pizza, etc..). We appreciate any help you can provide in terms of candy donations.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Niemiec & Mr. Subokow
