What is No Limits?
The No Limits Conference 2024 is the first summer education conference hosted by Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency and Northwest Area Education Agency. No Limits will be held on the beautiful, lakeside campus of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. This learning experience blends a variety of inspiring and informative keynote speakers and breakout sessions. No Limits is geared towards all- including teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, paraeducators, and pre-service teachers with sessions on SEBH, academics, MTSS, instructional technology, leadership and more. We believe there are NO LIMITS in what we can do together, as a unified team, to move learners forward and achieve excellence.

Meet Our Keynotes!
Mark Perna
MARK C. PERNA is the founder and CEO of TFS Results, a full-service strategic consulting firm at the forefront of the national paradigm shift in education and workforce development. Heidy LaFleur (Heidy with a WHY)
HEIDY LaFLEUR is a vibrant, positive and common sense leader with an explosive passion for helping people understand trauma & the critical importance of social emotional learning. She is an author, a forever teacher, former school administrator and most importantly, a mother who lives the trauma and mental health cycle with her family. She wakes up every morning to spread the message that our job is to make EVERY day the BEST day for EVERY child. With her personal experience being the foundation of her work with kids who struggle, she has worked with thousands of students in need of an understanding, positive and compassionate adult in their lives. Her true purpose in life is to help others learn strategies that impact the lives of children of all ages & behaviors. She is the founder of Heidy with a WHY where she provides keynote speaking, professional development, consulting & coaching opportunities across the country. Heidy received her Bachelor of Science in Education at Drake University where she earned a full volleyball scholarship. Her graduate work in Educational Leadership took place at Northeastern Illinois University. She has authored Hop on the Clue Bus - A Common Sense Guide to Leadership, Hop on the Clue Bus - A Common Sense Guide to Conquering Teacher Evaluation and Those Kids are OUR Kids. She was awarded the Double D Award from Drake University, the highest honor bestowed on alumni student- athletes for work in their field of student, as well as the John P. McGovern M.D. Award for Lectureship in School Health.
Breakout Session Highlights
Tan Huynh
Tan Huynh (@TanKHuynh) is a secondary school teacher specializing in English language acquisition, an author, podcaster, and consultant. He has taught students from 5th to 10th grade in domestic public, private, and charter, but the bulk of his experience has been in international schools. He also taught social studies and spends much of his days co-planning and co-teaching. Tan is trained in sheltered instruction, WIDA, culturally-responsive instruction, International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, and the Collaborative Instructional Cycle. Tan shares his application of research-based strategies on his blog, podcast, and online courses with the hopes of celebrating teachers who answer the calling to serve multilingual learners. Dr. Carol Salva
Dr. Carol Salva is an award winning educator with proven success working with unschooled/under-schooled, multilingual learners classified as SLIFE (Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education) or ELD (English Language Development) students. She is a key Seidlitz Education consultant for training, coaching, modeling, and supporting program leaders. Dr. Carol Salva is a co-author of Boosting Achievement: Reaching Students with Interrupted Our Minimal Education and a co-author of DIY PD: A Guide to Self-Directed Learning for Educators of Multilingual Learners. She has taught elementary, middle and high school. Carol holds a doctorate in education in the area of ethical leadership from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She also has her Masters degree in Education Administration. Along with her ESL certification, she is a Certified Gomez & Gomez Dual Language Trainer and a Certified Abydos Writing Trainer. Dr. Salva is a Kahoot Ambassador and the co-chair of the NAELPA professional learning committee. She lives with her husband and three children in Houston, Texas.
Breakout Sessions Have Been Released!
No Limits 2024 will offer over 50 learning sessions with sessions for administrators, teachers, paraeducators, and parents/guardians with topics that cover leadership, academics, social-emotional behavioral health, English Language Learners, and more! Registration Details
All attendees will register for the No Limits Conference 2024 through the statewide registration system (linked in the Register Here button below).
Licensure Renewal Credit and CEU Credit are available. Credit requirements include:
Attend both days of the conference, including full attendance at keynotes and breakout sessions.
Utilizing the Reflection & Action Plan Template:
reflect on all three keynotes sessions and six breakout sessions;
- identify "next steps" to implement new learning and reflection and submit these reflections.
- The completed Reflection & Action Plan (including Reflections, Next Steps, and Action Plan) needs to be submitted by 11:59pm on June 20th, 2024
