March Newsletter
Dear RHTA Families,
The 3rd quarter of school has gone by so fast! Spring break is here and then Ohio State Testing takes place shortly after we get back from break. In the 4th quarter of school you will notice a lot of activity happening at RHTA! I look forward to the community immersions, capstone events, and celebrations that occur in April and May. I hope that you and your family are able to rest up, enjoy this time together and come back ready for a strong end to the school year!

State Testing
Testing season is upon us! Learners have shown their hard work and growth throughout the school year and are now ready to demonstrate what they’ve learned on the Ohio State Tests.
Below is a breakdown of the state testing days for the month of April:
April 8-9 - Elementary/Middle School ELA (Grades 3-8)
April 15-16 - Elementary/Middle School Science (Grades 5 and 8 only)
April 23-24 - Elementary/Middle School Math (Grades 3-8)
Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 am on testing days. Make-up days/times will be determined after the initial testing day/time has been completed. Middle School learners enrolled in HS level courses with state tests will take the state tests on the days listed above.
The state requires learners to use wired headphones and recommends a wired mouse if needed. Every learner has access to a trackpad on their Chromebook, which can function as a mouse for state testing. Please note that the district will not provide either headphones or mice.
To help learners prepare at home for testing, please be sure learners get adequate sleep and get a healthy breakfast. Learners should make sure to charge their chromebook nightly and also bring wired headphones and a wired computer mouse (if needed) on the days of their tests.
Once testing has started we will not allow learners who are tardy to join their class. Please try your best to get your child here on time and send them with a book to read in case they have to wait for a test proctor to become available or their class to finish a testing session.
If you have questions about state testing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, your child’s coaches.
